A “RENEWED PERSONAL ENCOUNTER” WITH JESUS

Not many of us can describe our relationship with Jesus Christ. We may describe our relationship with God generally, but that of Jesus becomes a little bit not easy. This might be because we cannot tell exactly if there is any specific relationship we ought to have with the Master, other than the one we should have with God. With Jesus, we do not need to trouble God because Jesus would do everything for us. This sounds a little bit odd. Jesus has every power of God. Also, the Holy Spirit cannot act on His own; He takes directive from Jesus. I invite you today to a renewed personal encounter with Jesus Christ, the one who is Lord and saviour of the world. This invitation has become necessary to lighten the heavy burden that we currently bear and become open to his fountain of love and mercy. It will interest you to know that whenever we take a step towards Jesus, we come to realize that he is already there, waiting for us with open arms. My first intimate encounter with Jesus was a day I thought the end had come. I was ill, and even after my regular medication, it seemed there was no improvement. I could actually sense I was undergoing a dangerous situation. I became utterly confused. Then the spirit whispered to me, “tell Jesus to heal you”. Without hesitation, I whispered back, “Jesus, please heal me, I don’t want to die, please heal me” Within one minute, the pain disappeared, and I was completely restored. Since then, I talked with him freely concerning every of my situation. The word of God is telling us today to begin a friendship with Jesus Christ. Life is easier with him, and he will move several steps ahead of you if only you will accept him into your life and obey his commands. Talk to him concerning your problems now. He will give you rest.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, I thank you for this opportunity to know you better. I thank you for your love, guidance and mercy. I thank you for replacing my yoke with yours. I thank you for restoration, power and victory over all things that gives me worry. Thank you, Lord. AMEN.

Mary Lawrence-Dokpesi was born in Nigeria to Patrick Abuda Obeakemhe and Juliana Fatimatu Obeakemhe, both from Ogbona Town. With a master’s degree in law, she was called to the bar at the age of twenty-two, and she is currently the principle partner of the law firm Mary Lawrence-Dokpesi & Associates. She is also the founder of two philanthropic organizations: the Living Waters Mission and the Rose Croix Foundation.
