BREAKOUT FROM YOUR INNER PRISON (PART 1)

May 4th 2019

“Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness, and broke away their chains. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he breaks down gates of bronze and cuts through bars of iron” - Psalm 107:13-16

Are you truly free? This is the question all of us must carefully answer. Our answers to this question will, in turn, determine whether we want to be free or not. There are so many things which can send anyone to jail – whether to a physical jail or to a spiritual jail. Unfortunately, so many are aware only of a physical jail, but with little understanding of what constitutes a spiritual or an inner prison. When a person breaches a criminal law, he is said to have committed a crime and consequently sent to prison. In the same vein, when a person breaches a spiritual law, he automatically finds himself in a spiritual or an inner prison. The concept of the inner prison and why so many are held captive in it is not too clear to some of us. Some of the lapses that put people in spiritual cells are; the wrong mindset regarding ordinary issues of life; wrong attitude regarding basic issues of life; living in falsehood; self-righteousness; self-deceit; Cravings and addiction; ill-health; Guilty conscience; envy and jealousy; unforgiving; Fears about dying; Filthiness; greed; bloodthirsty; stubbornness, demonic influences; magical influences and all other ungodly behaviors you can think of.

Take out two minutes and examine yourself awhile; “do you have any of these traits highlighted above?” Anyone who exhibits one or all of these traits is not likely to have a stable life. For instance, to lie and deceive oneself and to claim to be what you are not is not a healthy lifestyle; it restricts the glory of God from radiating through you. Instead of making progress, such a person is likely to regress. The grace of God makes us stronger only when we are truly weak, not in a state of falsehood or inflated ego. Self-righteousness takes us several miles away from the kingdom of heaven, only true holiness counts. What weak areas have you figured out in your life as a major pullback? What is important is submission to Christ for His healing touch. If you admit you are in chains, He will deliver you today and you will receive complete healing and restoration. Beloved, today’s word says God is ready to restore you. Are you ready to receive Him?

Prayer
Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I submit myself to you today and I ask for freedom in every area of my captivity. Lord, you are the one who breaks down gates of bronze and cuts through bars of iron for the sake of your children, setting them free from every physical and spiritual chain. Father, when you turned around the captivity of Zion, they were like those who dream because your mighty hands restored them to glory. Like Zion. I declare I am restored today, and your mighty hands set me free. I am free indeed. Thank you, Lord. AMEN
