HOW TO ACTIVATE GRACE IN YOUR LIFE

26th JANUARY 2020

“For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.  For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”  But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another”! – Galatians 5:13-15

Grace is a supernatural gift from God which helps us to experience the love of God, especially when we are weak, ill, or lacking the push to move on to the next level. If truly God has given His grace to everyone, then why does it seem as if not everyone is experiencing His grace? Or better still, why do we experience so much inequality in the affairs of men? Now read carefully what I have stated in the next paragraph:

“It is true that God gave His grace to everyone through Jesus Christ, BUT each person still has to take decisions in their human affairs so as to activate the grace of God. All decisions in life are taken by us, NOT by God for us. Therefore, we are responsible for our decisions.”

A decision leading to sin is bad. Therefore, we must take a deliberate DECISION to shift from the old ways to the new way in Christ Jesus. But if our decisions are preventing us from doing the right thing, then God’s grace will not be activated in us. Apostle Paul was quick to address this issue when he says in Romans 6:1-2, What then shall we say? Shall we continue in sin so that grace may increase”? Certainly not! How can we who died to sin live in it any longer?”

Therefore, while it is true that Jesus died so we may have grace, NOT everyone is alive to His grace. This is due to the fact that so many are dislocated from the will of God due to unrighteousness or our continuous sinful disposition (Reference: Romans 6:1-23)

Please note very well what I have stated below:

“The bigger picture of God’s truth is that His grace will be activated based on certain principles. The Scripture says, “Grace works by faith, while faith is activated by Love” (Ref: Galatians 5:6. This means that LOVE plays a cardinal role to make us activate God’s grace. If you do not have love in your heart, you won’t be moved by faith to do extraordinary things to please God. If you have no love, you cannot exercise faith; and without faith, you cannot please God”!

First, to activate the grace of God therefore, we must have love in our hearts. If we have love, our faith will come alive as well, and we will be moved to please God.

Secondly, Love moves us to forgiveness! God forgave us and gave us grace while we were yet sinners. Therefore, we have to do likewise to others.

Third, as you show love to others, believe in your heart that God loves you as well! Dwell in His love always! Therefore, fear NOT!

Fourth, as Jesus sacrificed himself for us, so you must make a sacrifice to God through service to God and hospitality to man by helping to empower the needy and the poor.

Remember, Abraham activated Grace by faith and God made him a source of blessing to the whole world.  Solomon offered a huge sacrifice and God gave him a “blank cheque”. For God had said to Solomon, “Ask what you wish me to give you.”  Therefore, we need the grace to unlock peace, power, fulfillment and to live a beautiful life here on earth; we need His grace to do the work of ministry.

PRAYERS

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I receive grace upon my life today. Lord, I ascend the throne of grace today to receive thy mercy and I am greatly enriched in every area of my needs. Your grace now empowers and protects my ministry, Job, family, and friends.  Like Stephen, I am greatly empowered to do mighty deeds of signs and wonders. I have become a repairer of bridges in my generation, and also, a beacon of light to all nations. Like Esther, I now gain a richly crown of favor and grace, and the glory of God in my life has no bound. Lord, today I break new grounds of achievements, and I am greatly uplifted above the evil machinations of familiar spirits, territorial demons and the sword of the enemies that lurk in the dark to cause me pains. For it is written; the God of all grace, who has called me to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish me. Thank you, father, for this wonderful gift, Amen.
