“And this is the confidence that we have in him that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us” – 1 John 5:14
In recent times, I have been fascinated by the miracle of answered prayers in difficult situations. The Scripture is telling us today that prayers are answered according to the divine will of God. An aspect of the divine will of God is that all men would love God with all their hearts as well as loving our neighbours (Luke 10:28 – 27) Our inability to accept and to surrender consistently to the divine will of God is one of the reasons we experience obstacles in our prayer life. To love God, and other people is a difficult process for many. Reasons being that our hearts are locked up in hatred, unforgiveness, and selfishness. When our hearts are thus locked up, we also seriously hamper our relationship with Christ and our heavenly father. A demonstration of love automatically enlarges our faith, whilst expanded faith, in turn, gives us a sustained and constant strength to live a life filled with unrelenting compassion for our fellow human beings.
Consequently, daily prayer and surrendering our lives to the will of God in the love of God and the people will make us live a Christian life of victory in prayers. I have come to realize that prayer is not done for the sake of “getting what we want all the time”! But also for the sake of aligning our purpose with that of the Divine purpose of God. Most importantly, remember that you are not the reason why the miracle in prayers take place.
It is Christ in you that makes a prayer manifest! The attitude of Christ is that of giving light, life, and love to the world, without exemption. Jesus Christ demonstrated love in service to humanity, up to giving up His life to save the world. Therefore, you must have love in your heart always for prayers to manifest quickly! It is love that connects you to Christ in you! The fact remains that prayers’ true power is not in complicated or ritualistic prayers of long hours, persistent vigils, several days of elaborate dry or wet fasting, or even regular attendance at church services. The miracle power of prayers is in you! Christ is enthroned in you, and He is the power that brings prayer to manifestation. But you must have love in your heart to enable you to connect with Christ in you!
Consequently, before you start to pray, Jesus says you must first forgive your enemies! The miracle in prayers is achieved when you can align your INTENTIONS WITH THAT OF THE DIVINE WILL OF GOD. This means that you have to be in consonance or agreement with Christ in you and the attitude of Christ is LOVE! The practical approach is to ask yourself some basic questions thus:
i. Why do I pray for these things?
ii. What purpose would this serve in my life and that of
others?
iii. Would my desire bring joy to others as well?
iv. Would anyone be harmed if my desires come through?
So, when you answer these questions, be sure that; ONE, what you desire, would also be used to serve the glory of God as well as to serve others. TWO, take a step to purge yourself of biases, unforgiveness, hatred, envy, jealousy, and selfishness, BUT allowing Christ to fill you up with His divine spirit of LOVE. At all times, therefore, LOVE remains God’s divine will for his people. Love also is the nature of Christ, by whom all things are made manifest in prayers without delay!
PRAYER
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I empty myself of all weaknesses and imperfection. Fill me up, Lord, with your divine spirit. Lord, I align my intentions with your divine nature today, and I declare I am at one with you on the same frequency. AMEN.
