SET YOUR MILESTONES NOW!

6th JANUARY 2020

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.’” – Matthew 17:20

To achieve your dreams, you must set for yourself some reasonable milestones. With milestones in place, assessing the actualization of our dreams becomes easier. Today’s scripture tells us that our faith in God makes all things possible. That is correct only if our desires are reasonable and are within the measure of our faith. Some have big dreams, but little faith to actualize those dreams. To step up your faith, start with small dreams, and as soon as you achieve one small dream to the other, you can then begin to upgrade to bigger dreams as your measure of faith increases. This is because a newborn baby does not stand up the first day to run.  He must first learn to walk by taking one step at a time, then walking fast, then faster and thereafter starting to run. Nevertheless, setting milestones for ourselves, by faith does not mean that our dreams will materialize as we wished. However, as children of God, we should have the confidence that with the Lord, a setback is a ROAD OPENER leading us to actualize our dreams. This means that mistakes or outright failure may occur as we exercise our faith, but God will pull us out and restore us again. Take note that every fall has a lesson to teach. Master the lesson and quickly move on or start afresh if the need arises. This is so because God is the God of New Beginnings! He is the ageless God of time; the one who is ever-present from time to time to make all things new again and again! What this means is that we have to focus on God always in prayers and through guidance from the scriptures. Some of us focus too much on our human intellects and ambition. That won’t take us far. In all that we set to do, we are expected to run with God by faith, following Him behind, while allowing Him to show the way. But oftentimes, we become too hasty thereby running ahead of God. That is also not right. The scripture says, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.  Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholds him with His hand” (ref. Psalm 37: 23-27) We know that no one is completely good. But we can be reasonably good if we try to dwell in obedience to God’s word. God is happy when we follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ in obedience to His commands. All the promises of God in the scripture are for real. Meaning that the promises will manifest in our lives by faith if we want. But that is also dependent on our readiness to obey God’s commandments and patiently wait on Him. On a final note, beloved, when moving towards realizing your milestones or your goals, please do not listen to the flesh, but pay more attention to the Spirit. Remember, the SPIRIT of God dwells in you, therefore, open the doors of your heart to receive Him. God has already made a way for his children so solve their problems by His DIVINE SPIRIT.

 PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, take hold of my heart and let your Divine Spirit make a way for me today. I decree each of my needs shall be established this day by thy power. AMEN.
