THE ETERNAL WORD OF GOD AND THE BENEFIT OF JESUS CHRIST (PART 2)

“In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.” – John 1:4″

SUNDAY 23rd SEPTEMBER 2019

Firstly, in yesterday’s devotional, God revealed to us the benefits of Jesus Christ as the Eternal Word of God.  First, we received the message that tells us the different dimensions of the power of Jesus Christ. Today, we will explain further how Jesus Christ gives us the light of knowledge through which we gain spiritual insight into the things of life. Secondly, Remember, Jesus gives us a life of abundance which takes us several miles away from the realm of ordinary or uninformed men, for the one who has embraced JESUS CHRIST from within in a spiritual marriage or permanent holy communion is automatically transformed by the Holy Spirit. What follows the holy union is a new birth in Christ Jesus. Such a person becomes a true son of God, BORN BY THE SPIRIT and is able to demonstrate the power of God, which includes the power of immortality. The Master confirms this point when He affirms that whoever eats His flesh and drink His blood would not die, and even if such a person should die, he will live again! (John 6:50 – 60).  Thirdly, today, we are called to accept the light of Christ as our focal point in life. This means that JESUS HIMSELF IS THE LIGHT of the world. Therefore, as Christians, we ought to see in Jesus a good example of how to live a life of sacrifice and love. But alas, we are blind to the truth, beauty and the importance of Jesus, His teachings and commandments. So, when John says, “In him was life and that life was the Light of men,” he is also saying that Jesus Christ, the Word-Made-Flesh, is both the power to see spiritual splendor and the splendor seen! In order for us to behold the glory and spiritual splendor of Christ, we must be ready to receive the master in His teachings and His commandments – that has always been His desire – that we may constantly behold the light of His glory (John 17:24) Again, Jesus confirms this point, when he says twice, “I am the Light of the world” (John 8:12; 9:5). Today, the word of God further reveals the benefits of Jesus Christ when we truly embrace Him in His teachings and commandments. When we thus imitate Jesus, we begin to restore LIGHT to our broken world by our good works through sacrifice and godliness. This daily practice of imitation of Christ and obedience to His teachings would usher us into experiencing the true life of abundance which spans into eternity! Remember, Jesus’ Life and Light make us SONS OF GOD, truly born by the Spirit. The son of God has the power to hear and to feel the presence of God at all times. A son of God has the power to make a decree and to cause manifestation to occur. All that is simply required is to attune with Christ in you, and then follow Jesus ‘teachings as well as obey His commandments.

PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I trust in your power to lead me out of the darkness and bring me to the realm of light – the LIGHT of your wisdom, and the LIGHT that gives me LIFE of abundance. Father, henceforth, my good desires shall take form and manifest, just like your word took form and manifested as Jesus Christ. Thank you, Father. AMEN.
