WAITING ON GOD

4th APRIL 2020

And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie; though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Behold his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him; but the just shall live by his faith” – Habakkuk 2:2-4.

The last two sentences in today’s word say, ‘Behold his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him, but the just shall live by his faith’. In so many places in the scriptures, references are made to “the Just”. There is no doubt that the JUST is an upright and an unbiased man. The bible says to us today that the Just shall live by his faith. To be just is to be upright before God. What then happens to the man who is not upright? He also shall strive to live by faith! This shows that faith is a cardinal principle for realizing our desires. But a just man walks in obedience and faith to God’s commandments, and for that reason, he is better placed to receive a speedy fulfillment of his desires. Because the Just has faith in God, he waits patiently for the fulfillment of God’s will and purpose for his life. An unjust man without faith suffers for two main reasons: First, he is not upright. Secondly, he has no faith either. To wait on God for the fulfillment of His word or for the manifestation of a dream or vision is to have faith that God’s promises will be fulfilled at an appointed time. No matter how long it takes, it must surely come to pass. Our faith in God is further enriched and stronger if we know and understand God’s word for us whilst also walking in obedience to the will of God. God has promises for us in the scripture, and oftentimes, He also speaks to us individually in the form of a revelation. So, we must wait on God according to the promises He has made to us, either in the scriptures or by revelation.

Peter would not think of stepping out of the boat by faith and going to meet Jesus — not until he heard that clear word from Jesus – Come! Therefore, since hearing from God is a key factor in the exercise of faith, we must constantly ask and inquire from the Lord on the way He wants us to go. This is because “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Rom 10:17).  Now I ask; what are you waiting on God for?  Asked differently, what desire or dream do you want to manifest? Secondly, what does the scripture say regarding your request? In the alternative, did God give a word or a blueprint of something to you which you want to manifest?  The scripture is telling us today that:

·        if God says it, then He would do it – but you still have to receive God’s word or promise by faith. If Abraham did not have faith in God’s promise, he would not have received all the blessings of God. The same applies to Peter; when he lost faith mid-sea, he started to sink.

·         If God has not said it, then, He wouldn’t do it; it does not matter how long you wait. When we pray, we must listen carefully to receive His word for us.

What direction does God want us to go in order to actualize our dreams or desires? Listen to Him and get yourself ready and positioned to receive from Him NOW.

PRAYERS

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I receive your word for me today. Lord, I declare I am well positioned to receive the manifestation of your word for me and the gate of hell shall not prevail against me. AMEN
