  BE A RESPONSIBLE CHRISTIAN!

13th MAY 2022

“Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother who is walking in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us. For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but with toil and labor we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you. It was not because we do not have that right, but to give you in ourselves an example to imitate. For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. …” – 2 Thessalonians 3:6-12

The highest prayer for financial breakthrough and independence is a firm decision on your part not to be a burden on others. This is not to say that we should not seek assistance from those wealthier than us, but do not let your life revolve around them; otherwise, you will unknowingly shut the doors of abundance and prosperity in your life. Rather, focus on God, the limitless source who is able to provide for everyone without grudges. Start to take responsibility for your wellbeing and that of your family today. To take responsibility in life, we must be ready to do three things: ONE- We must take responsibility for our wellbeing and that of our family. Do not shift your responsibilities to others. TWO – You must take responsibility to do the will of God here on earth as it is in heaven. This means making yourself available to serve the purpose of God here on earth by doing what is laudable and praiseworthy for others, your community, your Church and the world in general. THREE – We must take responsibility for all our actions and not blame others for our failures. Remember, in every failure you experienced, you had a role to play in it. Accept your faults. It is only by accepting your faults that you are able to correct your mistakes and be given the grace to move forward. The word of God is telling us today that, the breakthrough that we seek is in our readiness to take responsibility at all times. When you dare to take responsibility, you are given the ability to assume your various responsibilities.  One beautiful aspect of taking responsibility is that you are able to attract prosperity, peace, love and harmony to yourself and your family. It is a wrong value to evade your personal responsibility and claimed that God says somebody else should shoulder them for you. Or better still, that the Holy Spirit has appointed some other persons to do them for you. In any event, one of the ways you would have successfully worked out your salvation is if you assumed your responsibility diligently. Jesus says; “pick up your cross and follow me”! Today, God is giving you a new ability and orientation to assume your responsibilities. Do not say, “this problem is too much for me. I can’t make it”. Remember, God is always bigger than any of your problems; And whatever problem God cannot solve does not exist! Tell all your problems to God; He is able and ready to go through the journey with you. He will surely restore you and put happiness back into your life.

PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I hold onto your word today and I declare I am redeemed from the mistakes of my parents or my roots. It is well with me always and I shall enjoy the fruits of my labour. Lord, I rebuke the sin of Jonah, rather, like Paul; I declare power and grace to overcome every inhibition standing against my obligations to my family, my ministry, my Community and the world. AMEN
