BREAKING THE CYCLE OF DEMONIC POWERS AND AFFLICTIONS (PART 1 OF 2)

25th OCTOBER 2022

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled” – 2 Cor. 10:3-6

Sometimes, we try to solve a problem, only to discover that every step we take to solve that problem either complicates it or brings forth another problem entirely. At some other times, we witness some negative occurrences happening in our lives. Problems are sometimes rekindled year in and year out, happening at a particular time in the year. These do not seem to be natural coincidences. They rather seem to occur or reoccur by some malevolent spirits exerting control or power over our lives. If that is your story at the moment, then what have you done about it?

Often, we self-sabotage the manifestation of the good things we set out to accomplish, especially steps relating to healing and success. We do that by the things we say, think or do. Therefore, when we pray about a blessing or decide to start something positive, we must follow up with a corresponding mental and emotional shift in the area of the change we desire. Therefore, see yourself already possessing the success you desire.

Break the cycle of calamity by doing things differently or having a mental shift. Don’t always have the same mindset when doing something new. Note exactly what made you fall the previous time, and tried to be different.

To block out the devil, or mistakes, you must strive to renew your mind always to conform with the word of God and endeavour to seize the victory of the cross! But breaking the power of a demonic repetitive attack means you have to identify the imaginations and wrong thought patterns that allow wicked spirits to wreak havoc on your life. Ultimately, you have to take responsibility for your choices. What do you rather want to think about? Life or death?  No demon in hell is stronger than a will aligned with the Word of God!

In today’s word, Apostle Paul offers some good news for us. Paul says that to break repetitive afflictions built by the demons in your mind, you have to make a purposeful and diligent effort to cast down the imaginations that defy the Word of God. As believers, we have the privilege of using God’s Word to tear down barriers erected against His truth. For instance, God’s word in Jeremiah 29:11 says: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.

Anything contrary to that is a lie by the devil! So, when you are confronted with situations in which your mind or imagination tells you that you can’t be prosperous because of one thing or the other, you are expected to step forward and confess or declare the word of God upon your life. The confidence that we have is that when we thus pray the word of God upon our life by His will, God hears us!

We, therefore, must strive to mature in obedience to God’s word. Although your imagination is a barrier, God’s word sets you free! But you must make a deliberate effort to cast down every contrary thought or belief against the spirit of Christ and the word of God.

PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I thank you for Grace and the Faith to hear you today. Father, I release my mind to you now for strength and the will to cast down every wrong belief and thought which goes against the spirit of Christ and the word of God. I am delivered indeed. Thank you, father. AMEN
