“So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him” – 1 John 4:16

These days, in most parts of the world, especially in Nigeria, humanity groans under the yoke of evil in its various shades and colours perpetrated by severe attacks of ignorance. Men of vanity and cruelty have seized and taken away peace and harmony from the world.

Notwithstanding the fear and uncertainty of our time, peace and harmony are still possible in our world if only we will give room for the love of God to prevail. As a believer, one of your duties and divine assignments is to spread peace and harmony throughout the world! Only divine love and the peace of God can restore harmony and peace in our world.

The world is in darkness because the light of Christ through the Gospel of Jesus Christ is diminished and replaced by the philosophy of men. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is about Love and Peace. If humanity embraces the light of peace and shares the love of God, the world will change for the better. The healing that we require in the world, especially in Nigeria, will manifest through the power of love!

The word of God is telling us today to embrace the love of God; This means loving God, as well as loving our neighbours as ourselves. Without question, we should show love where there is hatred and give peace where there is war. The cure to all satanic attacks – whether physical or spiritual attacks is love. As humans, we are expected to love each other the way God loves us. We are expected to open our hearts to spread out the love of Christ among natures and men. God’s love and reconciliatory Spirit sustains and keeps the world together in peace and harmony.

The Love of God is in the hearts of men, and we are expected to spread that love throughout the world. But some cannot give love due to wrong teachings. Others cannot love due to human weaknesses. But we can restore the love of God to our hearts if we believe and have faith in the love of God that heals and keep all things. As a believer, you must have faith in the power of love to heal and to keep the world. It is, therefore, time to allow the love of God to radiate from your heart to everyone, and let it touch every painful situation, remove every darkness and negative influences; Subdue satanic attacks, physical attacks and every contrary spirit etc.

In Ephesians 6:16, the scripture further says, “In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish ALL the flaming arrows of the evil one”. Your faith is in God and His love through Jesus Christ. This belief in the love of God brings every negative plan of the enemy crumbling down. Beloved in Christ, starting from today, endeavour to infuse your surroundings with divine Love and peace of God; give love where there is hatred. Give light in place of darkness; Give mercy in place of judgement; Make peace in place of war. In this way, we shall collectively neutralize the hate and satanic violence around us.

PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, no matter how traumatic and many are the satanic attacks on me this day, I confess that your Love sets me free. Lord, today I raise the shield of faith of thy love against all opposing forces, physical and spiritual, against me, and I declare that your promises and love set me free. Thank you, father, AMEN.

Mary Lawrence-Dokpesi

Mary Lawrence-Dokpesi was born in Nigeria to Patrick Abuda Obeakemhe and Juliana Fatimatu Obeakemhe, both from Ogbona Town.
