HOW TO CONVERT YOUR FEAR TO COURAGE AND STRENGTH

10th OCTOBER 2021

“Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered” — Matthew 10:29–30

There is hardly any human on earth that has not expressed fear at one point or the other. There are many reasons we are afraid; The primary reason being the fear of DEATH or POVERTY.

Although fear is a natural mechanism that helps us apply sensible precaution in times of trouble, many of us have misplaced fear and are afraid of the things that will never come near us or our dwellings. I am perturbed about the level of fear exhibited by Christians this day. I can understand the children’s naivety concerning fear, but I cannot fathom what has gone wrong for the adults. For instance, it is not uncommon nowadays to see children run away, not only on sighting living animals but also dead animals such as dead rats or dead cockroaches!

The adults also fear carcasses, whether of animals or humans. Unfortunately, adult Christians have increased their fear of the invisible. They get unnecessarily agitated and worried, especially over the things they have not seen. For instance, it is not uncommon this day to hear Christians talk about witches and wizards” attacks or occultic manipulations. If you, as Christians, are still afraid of the visible or the invisible, then wherein lies the faith that you profess?

Excess fear and worries are pretty dangerous. It is not what we fear that causes harm, but our perception of the damage it might cause is the source of the spiritual attack we suffer in most cases. We have to be careful, knowing that excessive fear and worries could make us act wrongly and negatively impact our health. Extreme fear causes poor judgment, suspicion, lack of trust, fear of death, emotional and mental trauma arising from constant thoughts of imminent danger, loss, or failure. Fear is a significant weapon against your progress, and it derails your spiritual, mental and material growth (Proverbs 29:25)

Today, Jesus is telling you to stop being afraid. Nothing can harm you. As cheap as two sparrows are, not one of them will die without God’s permission. That means that you shall not die, except God permits. To quench the flame of fears and worries, convert those fearful thoughts to the word of God, and believe that all is well. When you think the word of God in your heart and confess Him over your situation, something drastic begins to happen, viz that your faith is raised above the problem level, and the Holy Spirit immediately takes control. Remember, God knows what concerns you; He has a cover on you already because His word is valid forever.

To convert your fear to courage, you must stand firmly on God’s word. For instance, remember that nothing befalls God’s children until an appointed hour (John 7:30). That is because God is with you, helping you and upholding you in times of trouble (Isaiah 41:10, 13). Also, God promises to protect his own from all that is not finally good for them (Psalm 91:14); Man cannot harm us beyond God’s gracious will for us (Psalm 118:6; Psalm 56:11); Curses and divination do not hold sway against God’s people (Numbers 23:23); We will not die apart from God’s gracious decree for his children (James 4:15; Matthew 10:29–30; Deuteronomy 32:39).

Therefore, on each passing day, speak out the above verses upon your life and that of your family. Believe and have faith that the word of God is manifesting as you speak it upon your life. As much as possible, kill the irrational fear that is growing up within you. Shift your mind away from failure, attacks, death by simply believing that God is in control and His word is established in your life forever!

PRAYERS

Father, in the name Jesus Christ, I tap into Apostolic and Prophetic veins today, and I am greatly empowered and strengthened by your word of deliverance. Lord, I declare a total separation of my spirit from the realms of worries, anxiety, and fears, and I nullify their harmful effects on my life now. Father, today, I declare I have become invisible and inaccessible to the poisonous arrows of fears. Never again shall I be overwhelmed by any form of manipulation caused by the spirit of fear. Amen.
