“But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning, God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. He called you to this through o the gospel that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ” – 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14
The life of a Christian is a life of FAITH in God through Jesus Christ. Since God has already chosen you for salvation, then be assured of His power to deliver you through every odd. A Christian Journey in life is built on the following cardinal principles:
– Faith in Jesus Christ – to lead the way to eternity;
– Faith in Jesus – to lead us to the truth about life, God’s word and His nature;
– Faith in Jesus Christ – to give us a life of abundance, and life that spans to eternity.
To embrace the above cardinal principles, a Christian must live and endure like Jesus Christ. To live and endure like Jesus Christ means that a Christian must live by faith – believing that God is always in charge of everything concerning him. By faith, we live in strict obedience to the commands and teachings of Christ, believing that He will perfect every one of our decisions and sanctify everything about us. To live a Christian life is to live a life of faith in God’s word. As Christians, you are not shielded from challenges and problems of life simply because you have faith in Christ or that you are prayerful; rather, you are given power and authority to live through your problems, surmount every obstacle, and come out victorious! How do you gain victory over your problems, you may ask? The answer is that you have to let Jesus take the lead at all times. The greatest joy you will come to experience in life is the joy of having God lead you in every situation! When we thus allow the Master into our lives, we are confident that He leads; even though we experience horror and pain, He brings us out of it well-refined, safe, and nurtured by experience.
The word of God today ministers to us regarding His sovereign Grace of salvation to the whole world. The Sovereign Grace of God for salvation is that God chose everyone to be saved, but only those who believe in God’s truth in His word are truly saved and can share the glory of Christ. The truth about God and His nature is contained in the gospel. If you comprehend the truth in the gospel, then you are free indeed! Not many Christians believe in the truth as contained in the gospel. May God truly open our eyes so that we may see Jesus in the Gospel.
Start today to appreciate Jesus, His commands, and principles. If Jesus commands it, do it and have faith in His power to liberate you truly. When we live by faith in obedience to Jesus’ commandments, we can share in His glory – His victory over death, and partake of His eternal life, which starts from now till eternity.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus Christ, I believe in God’s plan for my salvation. Therefore, I give thanks to God in all things. Lord, I live by faith in obedience to your commands and principles; therefore, I share in your eternal life as well as your glory. For this reason, therefore, I am covered and sanctified in everything I do. AMEN.
