So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” – John 8:31-32

THE KNOWLEDGE OF CHRIST brings life to us because Christ is life! Jesus says He has come that we may have life and experience it more abundantly (John 10:10). Therefore, Christ sets us free from the bondage of every kind, and the knowledge of Christ takes us straight to the heart and soul of God, Himself being ONE WITH GOD (John 14:9).

How then do we get to the TRUTH that sets us free? The word of God is telling us today that those who believe in Jesus Christ MUST further ABIDE IN THE WORD THAT CHRIST SPOKE, for by this, shall they know the truth, and the truth shall set them free.

Therefore, beloved, believe in the WORD of God spoken by Jesus, for Jesus has conquered both life and death. The scriptures say that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not die but has eternal life. ( John 3:16 ) Eternal life is for us here on earth as well as in heaven. Eternal life is a life of glory, fulfilment, and immortality. Jesus confirms this point when He says He is the vine and you are the branches, and you have to remain in Him to bear fruits. (John 15:4 – 6).

The secret of a life of abundance or eternal life is; first, believe in Jesus Christ; and second, abide in His word. To abide in Jesus’ word is to live a life of obedience to His teachings and commands. Jesus says in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. Note that He did not say – “no one goes to heaven without passing through me”; He says no one comes to the father! So, what do you want from your heavenly father; fulfilment, eternal life, or immortality? The answer is; believe IN JESUS AND ABIDE IN HIS WORD.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus Christ, I believe in your WORD, and your word sets me free from every kind of bondage. I declare that eternal life is for me NOW, and I shall live to experience a life of abundance in thee. Thank you, Jesus. AMEN.
