UNDERSTANDING THE POWER TO CREATE WHAT YOU WANT (PART 1 OF 3)

12th JANUARY 2021

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made” – John 1:1 – 3

It is true that we may not be able to understand God fully, especially His power to create or manifest our desires. But God will reveal Himself if we are ready to receive Him, and to obey His commandments.

God is all-powerful and omniscient. But He has also deposited His creative essence or spirit in us for us to create or manifest whatsoever we desire. God demonstrated His power to create life when He spoke the whole world or universe into existence. A reasonable portion of the story of how God created the whole world is stated in the book of Genesis. But today’s scripture tells us that, the same word that God spoke in order to create the whole world became flesh or Jesus and dwelt among us. This of course means that Jesus Christ is the power of God to create and to keep life!

The eternal word of God that created all things is LIFE. This is why Jesus Christ overpowered death and also restored life or raised the dead. Therefore, in Christ, there is no death, because the word of God who became Christ is life everlasting. This explains why Jesus tells us that He has come to give us life and that we may experience it more abundantly (John 10:10)

But in addition to the above, Paul also says to us:

“ I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness—  the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people.  To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (Colossians 1: 25 – 27)

For Paul, the word of God in its fulness is Christ, and Christ dwells in you. What that translates to is that you have in you already, all the creative power of God or the power to create all things, as well as life everlasting!

Just like during the days of Paul, the secret is again being revealed to us today. That secret is that we presently carry in us two major powers:

·       The power to create all the things that we wish, and;

·       The power of life everlasting.

It is, therefore, my prayer today that God will bring us face to face with this power of Christ in us, and also, He will give to us the grace to manifest the things that we desire.

PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I thank you for the revelation of thy word today. You have deposited in me thy power to create all that I need. I, therefore, ask for the grace to understand this power and how to use it for the greater glory of thy name. Thank you, Lord, AMEN.
