USING THE MIND AND IMAGINATION FOR POSITIVE TRANSFORMATION (PART 1 OF 4)

28th SEPTEMBER 2021

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen” –   Ephesians 3:20-21

To define the mind or imagination is to create more obscurity and confusion about their nature. But at least, we can explain how they work in our life. Naturally, we use the mind to THINK. As we think in our mind, we form images in mind by imagination. For me, imagination is the power of the mind to create pictures and images, while the mind opens the door into our spirit.

Through imagination, we can conceive or create in our mind the good things that we would like to see happen to us. But be careful, for you can carelessly create bad images and pictures in your mind. The mind is like a magnet, ready to accept whatever is implanted in it in the form of pictures and images. That is why we have to be careful of what we get exposed to in terms of images or pictures, touch, smell, taste and what we listen to generally. Also, we must create only good pictures and images in our minds.

The mind is a gift from God to enable us creates and retain any manifestation as we desire. This is because the mind is the environment in which our destiny is decided. Why? It is because the mind has a link with the creative power of God in you – the Christ Spirit in you!  The Christ spirit is the power that is at work in you! Behold, the mind links directly with the Christ spirit. Whatever goes into the mind is very much likely to manifest with time, especially if the impression or thoughts we hold continues unabated or is allowed to thrive for a time long enough to make it manifest. However, the mind does not just start to imagine things on its own, but rather, from the things that we see, smell, hear, feel or touch. In its activities, the mind mirrors our physical world like a video recording, saves the recording in our memory, and later plays it back to us intermittently.

Anytime the mind plays such video back to us, we begin to rationalize the content and then form an opinion. The process of rationalizing the content and forming an opinion is called IMAGINATION. Such conclusions of opinion as may be formed by the mind usually manifest with time depending on how long such imagination is allowed to occupy our minds. Therefore, it is very important that the activities of the mind are controlled to bring forth a wholesome and creative imagination that will help give us happiness and joy in life.

To develop a healthy imagination, we need to have a positive mindset. Therefore, start today to fill your surroundings with beautiful images of what you would like to experience or own in your real life, such as fine images of houses, cars, beautiful babies, flower gardens, etc. Go frequently for window shopping and allow the aura and images of these beautiful things to engulf your entire being. Also, listen to inspirational music, watch good movies, visit beautiful places and read inspirational or motivational books.

Above all, read the scriptures daily and feel the beautiful promises of the scriptures in your life already.  See yourself living a life of fulfilment as if things prayed for have happened to you already. Let your mind be at peace and be happy always!

In appreciation of this mysterious power in us, Paul is telling us in today’s word that God can transform our lives positively and do much more than we THINK OR ASK. BUT WE MUST THINK AND IMAGINE POSITIVE THINGS ONLY!

PRAYERS

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I ask that you take hold of my mind so I may bring forth healthy imagination. I declare that each of my positive thoughts shall manifest more than I have imagined from this day onward. AMEN.
