I know of only one teacher of complete truth; He is the spirit of truth, also known as the HOLY SPIRIT. (John 16: 13) I know there is an anointing by the Holy spirit, RECEIVED ONLY THROUGH THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. This is the greatest anointing from God. Jesus was anointed by God through the Holy Spirit, and then he received power to commence his ministry (Act 10:38). The Apostles could neither preach the gospel, nor heal the sick until they had received the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Act 2 ) I know that the Holy Spirit Reveals God and His ETERNAL WORD and gives UNFAILING powers to serve the will of God on earth.
The first thing we have to recognize is that God anoints His people - for a purpose! He anointed Jesus, and he anoints His children.
"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." [Acts:10:38]
"But the anointing which you have received of him abides in you" [1Jn:2:27]
The next question could be; “Why does God anoint anyone?”
For Jesus, the anointing that he received from God and the power that followed the anointing were very necessary to enable him fulfil his mission on earth. Without the anointing from God, Jesus would not be able to set up his ministry, or have the power to heal the sick
"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power.... who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." Acts 10:38.
The Scripture doesn't say: "How God anointed Jesus the Son of God with the Holy Ghost...." Rather, it says, God anointed Jesus of Nazareth (the man). This is the point most Christians don’t seem to understand; even though Jesus was the only begotten Son of God - He left all of His power and glory in Heaven and came to earth in the same form as every other man.
"And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross." [Phil: 2:8]
"Wherefore in all things it pleased Him (Jesus) to be made like unto his brethren," [Heb: 2:17]
These basic facts are correct about Jesus Christ.
• He was born a man
• He lived on earth as a man
• As a man He had no more power than you or I
• He hungered and thirsted as a man
• He suffered as a man
• He died as a man
Anointing brings power and illumination. Jesus was never able to perform any miracle until he was anointed by God. Then came the anointing from God, and off He went aflame with his ministry. He casts out demons, healed the sick, thought greater things openly and in the temples or synagogues due to the power of anointing. [Mt: 3:16]. Regardless of what many think - There is no Biblical evidence that Jesus ever performed any miracles, nor did he enter into ministry until after He received the Holy Spirit - and the power that comes with the infilling (anointing) of the Holy Ghost. The importance of anointing became clearer when Jesus admonished his disciples not to go anywhere, or do anything, (not even to witness) until they had received the anointing (baptism) of the Holy Ghost).
There are indeed many different kinds anointing, none of which is without importance. Yet, the most important thing for us to realize is that every human being is born with a measure of the Holy Spirit intertwined with the human life or soul which is the same as THE WORD OF GOD in every man. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men” - John1:1-4. Everything created by God has in it the WORD and the Spirit of God buried deep within. When God created man, he breathed into him the breath of life and man became a living soul. Born-again child of God has received the Spirit of God - and thereby an anointing of the Spirit. Every born-again child of God has received the indwelling of the Holy Ghost. This is not to be confused with the infilling or the baptism of the Holy Spirit which is a completely separate experience - but every born-again believer has received the Spirit of God.
