WHY PRAYERS ARE SOMETIME DENIED

By Mary Lawrence - Dokpesi

There were some moments in life when we had fasted and prayed for several months or even years and nothing seemed to change. Some other times, we had enlisted Apostles, Prophets, Priests and other prayer warriors to assist us or pray along with us, and yet, nothing seemed to have shifted. At this point, we begin to wonder whether God is alive to His word.

God is the same today as yesterday. He does not change (Malachi 3:6-8) However, sin is a major hindrance in the manifestation of God’s power in our time. For us as Christians, we believe strongly that the number one enemy of man is the devil, and for this reason Jesus Christ was manifested to destroy the works of the devil. The devil lures man into sin and he is the first to bring your sins to the attention of God. Why? Because he wants to ensure that you do not fulfill the will and purpose of God on earth. You see, the devil is a liar; we must be able to TRULY believe that Jesus is Lord and savior and that he has already given us the power to overcome. If we follow the teachings of Jesus and obey his commands, we will have a significant power to rebuke the effect of sin in our lives.

Clearly our days on earth are specified and ordained already by God (Psalm 139: 14-16) . What we will achieve is also already ordained (Act 17: 26). It is our responsibility to work out and manifest on earth what has been ordained for us. That means we must strive at all times to live according to the perfect will of God for us. The reason some might not succeed in living their lives as predestined is because they have been led astray by the tricks of the devil. Instead of doing God’s will, we rather prefer to do our will. Daniel 7:9-10 tells us clearly that there is a court in heaven which passes judgment on people every day.

“A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated, and the books were opened” (Daniel 7:10)

In this court of heaven, the devil would attend to give God a legal authority to deny God’s children the right to live life as predestined or as it is written for them in the books. If the devil succeeds, then God will grant him victory over the children of God. This is the reason why so many lose their lives or fails to achieve success in their earthly endeavor, notwithstanding the amount of prayers already said on their behalf. We are told in Heb. 12:22-24 that there are about 9 voices that are continuously testifying for us in the courts of heaven.

“But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel” (Hebrew 12:22-24)

Although Jesus is there also in the court of heaven as our High Priest and Mediator, he would not do anything if the devil presents a legal authority against any believer. How then do we defend ourselves or defeat the devil?

1. We must renounce sin and surrender our lives completely to Jesus Christ and obey his commands; we must offer our lives as a living sacrifice. Rev. Chapters 10, 11 and 12. Living without sin is only possible when we surrender our lives to Christ and allow Him to take over and live in us. When Christ is in us, He lives His life of righteousness in us, and then, His righteousness become ours. This is possible when we constantly visualize Christ in us living a life of righteousness and we in turn demonstrate or attempt to become Christ like. You cannot simply will or confess BY FAITH alone, that the righteousness of Christ is yours without making efforts to work it out. This is because, faith alone without works is dead (James 2:14-26)
2. Discern the legal reason the devil has against the person and deal with it. Sometime, the devil lures us or makes us to justify a very sinful situation in our lives. We must be ready to humble ourselves before God and renounce that sinful posture. Delve deeper into your spirit and mind, and find out areas of your life that runs counter to the written word of God. The bible says; “ and give no opportunity to the devil. 28 Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need” (Eph. 4:27-28).
3. Tap into Apostolic and prophetic veins. Prophesy and pray into your life using the written word of God as given by the prophets and the Apostles. Lean on the victory Jesus has won for us on the cross and make decrees and declarations according to the written word of God. It is also good to enlist the support of your priest, prophets, Apostles or the rest of them who are VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE IN THINGS OF THE SPIRIT AND ARE ANOINTED FOR THAT PURPOSE TO HELP YOU OUT. Here on our website, we welcome your enrollment into our prayer and healing clinic. Please click to access. The bible says;
“So then you are no longer strangers and aliens but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord” (Eph. 2:19-21)

Beloved in Christ, please take note that the journey through life is not lined with Rosses, but full of negative allurements and distractions from the purpose and plans of God for us. We must therefore learn strategies to enable us scale through so many difficulties on the way. Depend strongly on the written word of God, meditate on it and you will find a resonance with His spirit in you. The Holy Spirit is there to show you the light that leads to the way.
