Today’s Scriptures: And the LORD answered me, and said, write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie; though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Behold his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him; but the just shall live by his faith" - Habakkuk 2:1-4.
To wait on God for the fulfillment of His word or a vision is to have faith in the fulfillment of God’s word and promise. We start to exercise faith ONLY if we know God’s word for us and we are also walking in obedience to His will. This also means that you must hear from God before waiting on Him. Peter would not think of stepping out of the boat by faith, and going to meet Jesus -- not until he heard that clear word from Jesus – Come!. We exercise faith ONLY when we are assured that we are walking in obedience to God’s will and command. This is because "faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Rom 10:17).
Now I ask; what are you waiting on God for? Has God given a word or a vision for you? God’s word today says: ONE - if God says it, then He would do it – But you still have to receive God’s word or promise by faith. If Abraham did not have faith in God’s promise, he would not have received all the blessings of God. Same applies to Peter; when he lost faith mid sea, he started to sink. TWO- If God has not said it, then, He wouldn’t do it; it does not matter how long you wait. When we pray, we must listen carefully to receive His word for us. What direction does God wants us to go in order to actualize our prayers? Listen to Him and get yourself ready and positioned to receive from Him NOW.
Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I receive your word for me today. Lord, I declare I am well positioned to receive the manifestation of your word for me and the gate of hell shall not prevail against me. Father, by the power of the Holy Spirit, I am empowered to wait on you with patient and humility for I know your word shall come to pass in my life. AMEN.
