Today’s Scriptures: If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself - 2 Timothy 2:13
A cardinal teaching of the church is that God is faithful to His word, and would never fail in any of His covenant towards us. After so many years of learning how to handle the affairs of my life, I had to learn how to stop and let go, believing God is in control. Often times, it seems that God is far away and probably not hearing my cries. Also, at some other crucial moments, it would seem as if, even if God were to sit close to me, He would still not respond for reasons known to Him alone. I am convinced that learning to let go and let God have His way in our lives is the best thing we can do for ourselves. I learnt to trust God several years back when I had a very serious health challenge regarding one of my wards. The more I prayed, the more the issue seemed complicated. At the end, the doctor told me he had tried every possible options and no improvement still. I wept profusely because I knew it was over. After a while, I said to God; “Father, why are you doing this to me? HAVE YOUR WAY”.
I got up and went into a business meeting that lasted several hours. I came out of the meeting to find several missed calls from the doctor. He had called severally to tell me that the last drug he administered on him was quite helpful and that the boy was up and running already. Beloved, God takes control where our abilities stop, and if we are able to surrender to Him. The word of God is telling us today to trust in God. In any perplexity, He is there with us; stop fretting, Remain still and let go completely as if the problem does not exist. Look beyond the problem and focus on God’s mercy and love. Try doing the following when you are faced with challenges:
1. Surrender control to God in prayers and let him direct how you go.
2. Be still; stop fretting; the Lord will fight for you.
3. Look beyond the problem; Focus your mind and attention on God’s love and mercy.
Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I place all my trust and hope in you because you are a faithful God. You keep your covenant and steadfast love with those who love you and obey your commandments, even to a thousand generations. Therefore, I declare I am established in all areas of my life, and I am completely shielded from every evil. AMEN
