THE POWER OF SILENCE (PART 2)

May 31st 2018

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” - Exodus 14:14

In order to experience a deeper dimension of God's holy presence, we must become one with him in spirit. This is what the scripture refer to as “deep calling unto deep” in psalm 42:7. The first Deep is our spirit, calling upon the second deep which is the spirit of God. It consists of the deepest heart to heart communion with God in silence, humility and faith. This union shuts you out completely from the storm of the outside world, and takes you deeper into the waters of God’s spirit, which like waterspouts, completely overwhelms you. What comes from this union with God is a complete restoration and healing, deeper than man can understand. The scripture refers to these blessings as, “blessings of the deep that lieth under” which comes from the deepest part of God – His soul. Jacob knew the difference in these blessings, so when he blessed his children, he specifically blessed Joseph like this: “Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb” (Genesis 49:25 ) To be still, is to truly be silent.

Do nothing except to focus your mind and attention on God. Feel His loving presence around you. Beloved, I do not know what you are passing through at the moment, but the word of God for you today is; be quiet, be still, shift your gaze away from your pains and sorrow, just for one minute to focus on God. Ask for His healing balm and His restoration. Ask God to solve your problems. Do not look at the magnitude of your problems, instead, focus on God for God is bigger than every of our problems. Remember, only God can bring a lasting relief to you from your troubles, pains and sorrows. Anytime you are troubled or are in pain or sorrowful, do not take to alcohol, smoking, sex, watching movies or any other worldly measures; these are temporary measures and do not bring any lasting relief to grief; they do not provide that supernatural turnaround from troubled waters. Instead, go find a lonely place; a place with no noise. Remain calm, close your eyes and let your inner eyes and mind be focused on the beauty of Christ, you will immediately receive the peace that He has promised every believer. Remember how God had helped you in the past. Also, remember how He had delivered some believers that you are aware of; remember how God delivered the people in the scriptures. This is yet another opportunity to receive His healing and deliverance once again. Therefore, talk to Him, trust in Him, be still, and you will hear His calming voice and rest upon His strength.

Prayer
Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I open my heart to receive your word today. Minister to me, and heal my wounds. AMEN
