“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” - Psalm 46:1

At some point in life, we are confronted with that terrible situation of not knowing what to do when faced with a situation seemingly above our control. It could just be that you did something stupid and that had triggered off so many other uncontrollable happenings. At some other times, without no fault of yours, you are faced with incidents of betrayal, rejection, separation, loss of fortune, loss of opportunities and loss of a dear one. Although God has given us strength and courage to withstand and conquer every upheaval in life, there is still that jelly like nature in us which is very quick to melt away or quiver in the face of trauma. Usually when confronted with these situations, we feel desperate. In fact, we wonder if we are going to make it out at all. It is very common these days to witness series of abuse and pains being inflicted on the weak among us. Some of us watch others going through crisis and are unable to help; humanity has come under a heavy trauma, and this is the time to change every negative situation ravaging the children of God.

How do we overcome negative circumstances and human weaknesses ravaging our world at the moment: One - you must understand that desperate times call for desperate measures; therefore, you must be swift in making a shift to a position of succor and comfort. The word of God is telling us today that God is present in the midst of all our problems, ready to help us overcome our travails. All we need do is to SHIFT to God; perhaps, we have been far away from Him. Two - cry for help like the woman in 2 kings 4:1-7. After each prayer section, wait on God. Do not do anything stupid, let God do His work. Three – Look beyond your problem. Do not cut down your faith like Peter by focusing on the problem. Instead, fix your gaze on Jesus, He knows what to do. Four – Read the scriptures daily and confess the word of faith to yourself. Five – Seek Godly counsel in your church. Where necessary, an expert will be invited to tend to your peculiar problem. Five – come out of your comfort zone to help others in need; lend a helping hand to someone in need and help put a smile on someone’s face. Six – Help to pray for world peace, especially, pray for the peace and prosperity of your country.

Prayer
Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I present my travails before you today, and I call forth your presence into my life. Therefore I declare every mountain in my life is brought down NOW. Lord, as when the waters boil under fire, so your presence will tremble my adversaries and set me free from all forms of bondage. AMEN
