THE ETERNAL WORD OF GOD AND THE BENEFIT OF JESUS CHRIST (PART 2 OF 2)

12th APRIL 2022

“In Him was life and the life was the Light of men.” – John 1:4.

In part 1 of the devotional, God revealed to us the benefits of Jesus Christ as the Eternal Word of God.  In that devotional, we received the message that tells us the different dimensions of the power of Jesus Christ. Today, we will explain further how Jesus Christ gives us the light of knowledge through which we gain spiritual insight into the things of life.

Now, you have to remember that Jesus gives us a life of abundance which takes us several miles away from the realm of ordinary or uninformed men, for the one who has embraced JESUS CHRIST from within in a spiritual marriage or permanent holy union is automatically transformed by the Holy Spirit. What follows the holy union is a new birth in Christ Jesus. Such a person becomes a true son of God, BORN BY THE SPIRIT and is able to demonstrate the power of God, which includes the power of immortality. The Master confirms that point when He affirms that whoever eats His flesh and drinks His blood would not die, and even if such a person should die, he will live again! (John 6:50 – 60).

Therefore, today, we are called to accept the light of Christ as our focal point in life. That is because JESUS IS THE LIGHT of the world. Therefore, as Christians, we ought to see in Jesus a good example of how to live a life of sacrifice and love. But alas, we are blind to the truth regarding His teachings and commandments. So, when John says, “In him was life and that life was the Light of men,” he is also saying that Jesus Christ, the Word-Made-Flesh, is both the power to see spiritual splendour and the splendour seen!

In order for us to behold the glory and spiritual splendour of Christ, we must be ready to receive the master in His teachings and His commandments. That has always been His desire – that we may constantly behold the light of His glory (John 17:24).  Again, Jesus confirms this point, when he says twice, “I am the Light of the world” (John 8:12; 9:5). Today, the word of God has revealed the benefits of Jesus Christ not only in His teachings and commandments but also in His lifestyle!

When we thus imitate Jesus, we begin to restore LIGHT to our broken world by our good works through sacrifice and godliness. This daily practice of imitation of Christ and obedience to His teachings would usher us into experiencing the true life of abundance which spans into eternity! Remember, Jesus’ Life and Light make us SONS OF GOD, truly born by the Spirit. The son of God has the power to hear and feel the presence of God at all times. A son of God has the power to make decrees and to cause manifestation to occur. All that is required on your part is to attune with Christ in you, follow His teachings as well as obey His commandments. Finally, follow His footsteps!

PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I trust in your power to lead me out of the darkness and bring me to the realm of light – the LIGHT of your wisdom, and the LIGHT that gives me LIFE of abundance. Father, henceforth, my good desires shall take form and manifest, just like your word took form and manifested as Jesus Christ. Thank you, Father. AMEN.
