“He that committeth sin is of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil” – 1 John 3:8
God’s greatest gift to you is the gift of a new life in Christ. And that is because God loves you so much that He would not let you go through life in suffering and pain caused by your sinfulness. Everyone who believes in the finished work of grace ought to be in a state of deliverance from the forces of evil and demonic manipulations. As a believer, you must never forget that the power behind your salvation is the cross; by way of the cross, you were adequately prepared to receive the grace of God. The bible says, “having cancelled the debt ascribed to us in the decrees that stood against us. He took it away, nailing it to the cross! And having disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross” (Colossians 2:14 – 15)
With the complete work of Jesus on the cross, going through life becomes easier! All your lapses, weaknesses and ego have been nailed to the cross, and the real you have arisen with Jesus. Further to this is that Jesus has already subdued all powers and principalities for your sake. Therefore, if you believe in the work of grace, then the grace of God will carry you above sin and other weaknesses.
Today’s scripture reminds us about the finished work of grace. Do not entertain the devil or do anything to bring him back into your life again. He is a destroyer and a thief! When we dwell in sin, we allow the devil to dwell with us and steal away our success. Anytime you are tempted to commit a sinful act, hold onto Jesus and plead the power of His Grace through His righteousness. Tell yourself you are righteous by His grace, and sin has no hold upon you anymore. Pray this prayer always:
Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I declare I am a product of the righteousness of Jesus Christ, and His blood sets me free. Therefore, I now transcend the power of sin in my life, and I overcome evil by the power of the lamb, the lamb which was slain before the foundation of the world. Therefore, sin must be destroyed. For this reason, Jesus Christ was manifested to destroy the power of sin, evil and death over my life. I am delivered and renewed by His blood, Spirit and Righteousness. Amen.
