BE MODERATE AND LIVE RIGHT!

3rd MARCH 2023

“It is not good to eat much honey, nor is it glorious to seek one’s own glory” – Proverbs 25:27

For some, living well entails having everything they want up to the point of lavishing wealth as they choose. But there is a maximum level of treatment that your body, and even your emotion, can accommodate. Therefore, keeping to the limit of food and drinks, including every other indulgence mark the beginning of wellness and wellbeing.

To keep the body functioning at an optimal level, we have to be moderate in our lifestyle. Most terminal ailments and sudden deaths recorded these days are due to overindulgence in food, drinks, lack of rest, lack of exercise, wrong relationships, addictions, self-medication etc. But how do we know if we are moderate?

It will probably interest you to know that there is a required amount of water, heat, air and the best bodyweight right for you to be adjudged healthy. When the statistics are altered, a problem occurs, and that can degenerate to sickness, or a protracted emotional or depressed condition.

When thinking about moderation, we must also think of total abstinence, where necessary. For example, underage drinking of alcohol and sexual relationships cannot be done in moderation! That should be complete abstinence for the fact that children shouldn’t drink alcohol or have sexual relationships.

Also, if you have six packs of beer, containing six bottles each, you drink three packs of them back-to-back- that is not moderation. If you have two large boxes of Domino’s Pizza and you eat one whole package and leave the other – that is not moderation either; We must avoid greed and obsession with what we eat and drink.

Further to the above, we must also be on our guard when we are shopping, watching TV, browsing the internet, taking medicine or caffeine and dealing with the opposite sex. The word of God is telling us today to embrace moderation to live a healthy life and to be able to avoid the tricks of the devil. Be careful because Satan does all he can to try to tempt us.

Lastly, but not least, do not seek glory for yourself. Do all things for the glory of God!

PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I thank you for all my worldly experiences. Lord, by the power of the Holy Spirit, I take only that which is good for me. Therefore, I declare everything I do is moderated, fulfilling, and uplifting, all to thy glory. AMEN
