“And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!” – Philippians 2:8

FINDING LIFE THROUGH LETTING GO

Reflect on the spiritual humility and obedience of Jesus, who willingly submitted to death on the cross for our sake. His humility and obedience serve as an example for us to follow in our spiritual journey. – Mary Lawrence-Dokpesi

REFLECTION:

Finding Life Through Letting Go

Philippians 2:8 tells us Jesus, though divine, took human form. Amazing, right? But it gets even more powerful. The verse says He “humbled himself” by becoming obedient – even to the point of death on a cross.

Imagine the ultimate act of letting go: giving up everything, even life itself, out of love. Jesus showed us that true life isn’t found by clinging to things, but by releasing them.

This can be scary. Maybe it’s a grudge you hold, a bad habit, or pride that gets in the way. But when we surrender these things, just like Jesus, we open ourselves to something greater – a deeper connection with God and a life filled with His love and purpose.

ADDITIONAL VERSE:

“Therefore, God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name.” – Philippians 2:9

MEDITATION:

1.     What is one thing you can “let go” of today to follow God more closely?

2.      Ask God for the strength to humble yourself and choose His way.

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your spiritual example of humility and obedience. Help us to follow Your example in our spiritual journey, trusting in God’s exaltation of those who obediently serve Him. Amen.
