“Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth” – Proverbs 10:4

Diligence is a character trait that enables us to do the needful in every situation while waiting for God to prosper us. That means that at all times, we are expected to do our part regarding any issue while keeping faith and reliance on God. In other words, diligence and faith are two sides of a mystery coin. Faith does not know how it all works out despite one’s effort, but when combined with faith, diligence assures spiritual and material success.

Many of us are distracted daily from the path of success due to our inability to focus on success. Focusing on success becomes daunting when we are not reliant on God for the success we seek or are afraid that we might fail even if we are hard-working. But a diligent mind has the assurance that if he does his best in any situation, God will come to his aid to perfect the work of his hands.

Therefore, to be diligent in life means that we have to focus our energy and mental capacities on our goals. Also, sticking with the plan can help you put your energy into achieving your goals. It is good to remind yourself of your goals and stick with your plan while focusing on the task at hand.

Consequently, beloved, I charge you to be fully committed to your endeavors; Ensure that you are connected by faith to your goals while waiting for God to bless you, Believe in yourself and have faith in God.

PRAYER

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, grant me the strength of the heart and the body to be diligent and committed to the work of my hands. I ask for success that only you can give. Take control of my life. AMEN

Mary Lawrence-Dokpesi

Mary Lawrence-Dokpesi was born in Nigeria to Patrick Abuda Obeakemhe and Juliana Fatimatu Obeakemhe, both from Ogbona Town. With a master’s degree in law, she was called to the bar at the age of twenty-two, and she is currently the principle partner of the law firm Mary Lawrence-Dokpesi & Associates. She is also the founder of two philanthropic organizations: the Living Waters Mission and the Rose Croix Foundation. In addition to law, Lawrence-Dokpesi was drawn to spiritual pursuits at an early age, having begun studying philosophy, theology, chaplaincy, and spirit therapy by the age of eighteen. Inspired by her spiritual calling, she has produced ten intensively researched manuscripts on spiritual matters. Although Understanding the Spiritual was the last to be written, it is the first to be published. Lawrence-Dokpesi is a mother and a wife living in the city of Abuja, Nigeria.
