Today’s Scriptures: Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness - 1 Chronicles 16:29
Often times after each Service, I hear people say; “I did not get anything out of today’s sermon” or “it appears the pastor or the priest omitted something very vital”. Not only have I heard this several times, I have also said that many times. I know some may also begin to think that I lost my focus on today’s devotional. But I want to quickly address a burning issue, which if properly addressed now, will truly open the heavens for the power of God to flow into our life. These days, Churches carry out so many activities on Sundays order than worship. However, the time for worship must be clearly set apart and respected. Worship is about God and not about you, me the priest or the pastor. If my focus is on myself when I enter the church for worship--getting my needs met, learning something, hearing a lesson that blesses me, being lifted by the singing, then Christ has no part in it. He becomes my servant, and the pastor is there only for me.
The word of God is telling us today to Give God Worship and Glory in the Ways today’s scripture has commanded. Therefore, God is not pleased with “just anything” that we claim as worship. Jesus says that those who worship God must worship in spirit and in truth – With the innermost heart and as prescribed in the scriptures. True worship is the only way we compensate God for His goodness, love and mercy. This Sunday, change your pattern of worship; GIVE GOD throughout the service from your heart. God further opens His heart to show love and mercy when we truly worship Him. If you have love and mercy from God, you conquer ALL.
Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I declare, You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being. I ascribe to thee glory and strength and I worship you in the splendor of your holiness. You who make Lebanon leap like a calf, Sirion like a young wild ox, to thee I bow and worship with my whole heart, strength and might. AMEN
