“ Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request” - 1 Chronicles 4:9-10
To change your story is to rewrite your destiny and to become who God says you are. Do you have any reason to think that your life should change from what it is right now, to something different; something of a great testimony? So many people are currently living a life of restricted value and relevance, either to themselves, or to others. To be of no value or relevance in life, is not the will of God for us. As children of God, we ought to be able to serve the glory of God, through service to humanity. If this is not the case with you, then your story has to change. The story of every child of God must be told according to the word of God, not according to your perception, or imagination. Some are unable to live a fulfilled life due to lack of resources; some have resources, but are not truly happy or contented; some are sick with protracted ailment, and are waiting on God for healing.
All these are not pleasant narratives, and therefore have to change. The word of God is telling us today to rewrite our destiny by embracing a change and also, to believe that God is ready and willing to change us for good. The first step to rewriting your story is to believe that your life is capable of changing for the better, and you are actually willing to embrace changes. Second, is to bury every elements of pride – your inability to commit yourself to God; remove bitterness against others; and resist unbelief. Believe in the Holy Spirit, and His powers to change you for good. Jabez wanted a change, and he called on God to actualize a desired change in his life; God changed Jabez. He can do same for you, only if you submit to Him and believe He can change you. God can make you greater, beyond your imagination.
Father in the name of Jesus Christ, answer me like you did to Jabez. Let me experience a turning point and a breakthrough in my life. Lord, I am not a victim of any circumstance, rather, I declare I am a victor by the power of the Holy Spirit. I am purified from every negative manipulation whatsoever. To God be the glory. AMEN.
