“ Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request” - 1 Chronicles 4:9-10
To change your story is to rewrite your destiny and to become who God says you are. Do you have any reason to think that your life should change from what it is right now, to something different; something of great positive testimony? So many people are currently living a life of restricted value and relevance, either to themselves or to society. To be of no value or relevance is not the will of God for us. As children of God, we ought to be able to serve the glory of God on earth by living well and by serving others in charity. If this is not the case with you, then your story has to change. The story of every child of God must be told according to the plan and purpose of God for each of us and not according to your perception, or imagination. Some are unable to live a fulfilled life due to lack of resources; some have resources but are not truly happy or contented.
Some are sick with a protracted ailment and are waiting on God for healing. All these are not pleasant narratives which have to change. The word of God is telling us today to rewrite our destiny by embracing a change and also, to believe that God is ready and willing to change us for good. The first step to rewriting your story is to believe that your life is capable of changing for the better, and you are actually willing to embrace changes. Second is to bury every element of pride and submit to God who is able to fix the broken pieces of our life. A third way is to remove bitterness against others and forgive others no matter the damage they have caused you. From this moment, you must extend love freely to EVERYONE. Fourth is that you must resist unbelief. Believe in the Holy Spirit, and His powers to change you for good. Jabez wanted a change, and he called on God to actualize the desired change in his life; God changed Jabez. He can do the same for you, only if you submit to Him and believe that He can change you. God can make you greater, beyond your imagination.
