“Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the Lord that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capston in the hand of Zerubbabel?” – Zachariah 4:10
One amazing fact not understood is how God chooses the little and weaker things of life to manifest His awesome power. This should not be a surprise to us. After all, God created the world out of nothing; therefore, He is able to bring something out of nothing. Maybe, I should first ask you; what little thing, what failed dream, what false start, have you come to mock or despise, either in yourself or in others? God delights in the insignificant, weak and smaller things, and making something out of them. For instance, the little rod of Moses became a mighty wand for the deliverance of God’s people; Samson, used jaw bone of a donkey, a small thing, and slew a thousand Philistines. David, who was small in stature, took five small smooth stones, and killed Goliath, A measure of oil sustained a widow through years of famine.
Do not underestimate the purpose and plan of God working through weaker and insignificant vessel to radiate His glory and manifest His power in such amazing way that the world is left gasping for breath. Also, do not write off your small act of love and service, God uses them as a spring board to bless you and to raise you up. (Matthew 10:42) God is able to take your frailties, failures, and false starts, and rebound them to His glory. We serve an equal opportunity God; therefore there is hope for us! The word of God is telling you today that God by His spirit can use you, no matter how lowly and insignificant you are, to supply and sustain others, and His work, but His help comes when you abandon yourself to a daily relationship with Him, resting in His power and strength! The victory will come only through the Spirit of God. Zerubbabel could not build the temple anymore. It became a symbol of his failure. But God infused His spirit into the temple project, and empowered Zerubbabel to build the temple from abandoned ruins to a magnificence edifice? This is a message of spiritual and emotional healing for you. It is the Lord that builds all things!
Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I humble myself before you today, and I open up to your divine spirit and power. Use me mightily for your divine purpose and plan. Lord, I decree this day, that every failed situation in my life receives your spirit and life NOW, and I am completely restored by the power of the Holy Spirit. AMEN
