STRENGTHENING YOUR FAITH

2nd JUNE 2023

For we walk by faith, not by sight – 2 Corinthians 5:7

How do we walk by faith and not by sight? To walk by faith and not by sight means that we should live our lives today according to God’s promises, believing that we have gained the promises already, even though we cannot see them. Therefore, we should not live according to the temporary, arbitrary drawback or issues of life that our eyes often focus on.

Therefore, if you want to walk by faith, you need to release your fear about life to God and accept the path He leads you daily. That is easier said than done, you would say. Of course, you are right here. But the truth is that you may not be able to become completely fearless, but you can be courageous and learn to act according to God’s will even when you are afraid of what lies ahead.

It gets to a point in your life when you have no choice but to believe that God is in control. For instance, if one has a terminal ailment, it’s best if you hold onto God. Release your fear, and believe that God, who owns all things, will see you through the healing process. That is what faith does with us. Faith gives us an opportunity to believe in God to receive our help in Christ Jesus, and He is always there for us.

To strengthen our faith and overcome spiritual weaknesses, we need to cultivate the habit of walking by the Spirit; Side by side with the Holy Spirit. That means we should look unto the Holy Spirit for our direction. It is a daily journey of asking ourselves, “What does the Holy Spirit want me to do today? What will honor and please Him?” It involves examining our lives constantly by choosing to dialogue with the Holy Spirit all the time.

Understand today that life may not go the way we choose. That should not call for despair. Whatever perplexes us definitely can be solved by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, do not worry about your problems, don’t focus on them. But focus on God. The night will break into a new day, and the grip of fate on issues will gradually lose with each passing day. Work, pray, and believe!

 PRAYER

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, today, I place my hope and confidence in you. Send forth your divine Spirit into my life to be my companion. From this day on, I shall live under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I believe that your divine Spirit watches over me; therefore, I fear no evil. Your Divine Spirit makes way for me in rugged terrain; therefore, I shall not lose grip of my blessings. Your promises will unfold in my life daily, and the joy of salvation shall continually ring in my soul forever. AMEN
