Today’s Scriptures: “The impotent man answered him, Sir; I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk” – John 5:7-8 (KJV)
Although it is natural to fall sick, it is the will of God to heal us; all that is required is to attune to His healing powers. At times we are healed in good time. At other times, Healing takes time to come. Yet, at some other time, Healing is completely shut down; and the ailment becomes terminal. At the Bethesda pool in Jerusalem was an invalid who had been ill for thirty Eight years. He was greatly limited in his opportunity to get healed because the pool allows healing for one person at a time. At certain seasons, an angel would descend into the pool and stir its waters, and whichever invalid got there first after the water is stirred get healed. The others would have to wait for another season. Jesus bypassed the rest invalids also at the pool side, and came right for this one, and said to him, “Do you want to be healed?” The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going, another steps down before me.” Jesus said to him, “Get up, take up your bed, and walk.” And at once, the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked. But why was the man singled out for healing among the rest?
Despite his limitations, the invalid faithfully remained by the pool, hoping to be healed one day. Jesus had compassion on the man, because he had been there for a long time, and would never have had the chance to enter the pool because he had no one to carry him inside. Are you currently limited from assessing healing; this could be as a result of finance or whatever reason. God says your healing has come NOW. Do what is humanly possible and faithfully commit the rest to God. God knows your limitations and weaknesses; he is compassionate and merciful; just be open minded, vigilant and responsive to God’s directive. Jesus is Lord!
Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I thank you for your word of healing and I declare I am healed from the crown of my head to the soul of my feet. Lord Jesus, you were pierced for my transgressions, you were crushed for my iniquities; the punishment that brought me peace was on you, and by your wounds I am healed. Therefore, I declare sickness and affliction are far from me from this day onwards. AMEN.
