HOW TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS IN LIFE (PART 2 OF 3)
August 1, 2023

31st  JULY 2023

You do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, ‘If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.’ – James 4:13-15

Life is short. Therefore, we must live each day as if that day is our last day on earth.  Everyone has a mission to fulfill on earth before passage into the afterlife.  An important question you must ask yourself every day is how to fulfill your mission on earth:  How do you get to where you believe God wants you to go and be what you know God wants you to be? The journey of life is not an easy one, but with God, it becomes easier. For you to get to your mission and final destination as you work hard, you have to be focused on these nine very important steps:

1.     Find out exactly where you are at the moment. Just like every journey, you must be sure of where you are at every point in time in order to find the bearing to your final destination. So, you begin by asking yourself these questions; One, where are you spiritually, financially, emotionally, relationally, physically, and occupationally? Two, what would you like to change in your present situation?

2.      Be specific about what you want. Abraham was very sure and exact about the kind of wife he wanted for Isaac (Ref: Genesis 24:3-4). Ensure that your desires are not vague; if your desires are clear and stable, the more power they will have to become a reality. However big your desires or dreams may be, God is bigger, and He is ready to make His promise manifest in your life. Therefore, do not doubt God or yourself. Worries and fears will neutralize the power to make manifest what you desire. Therefore, fear not, and do not be anxious about anything.

3.     Now, it is time to look at the scripture and locate any promise of God that addresses your specific desire and get moving with that. Remember, Abraham believed in God’s promise to give him the promised land, and so he built his faith and goal around the promise of God (Genesis 24:7) When you are praying on God’s promises, be assured that God is with you; He says “I will be with you no matter where you go.” God is always with you whether you feel it or not. You just need to plug into His power.

4.     Ask God to help you actualize your desired goal. Pray without ceasing. The Bible says, “So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God and there we will receive mercy and we will find grace to help us when we need it” (Hebrews 4:16: Ref. Genesis 24:12 – 52). Why must you pray throughout the journey to your goal? The reasons are very familiar to us already: First, your prayers reveal how serious you are about your goals; second, your prayer attitude shows how much you are dependent on God to reach your goals. If you never pray about your goals, never pray about your job, never pray about your finances, it means you are not depending on God in any of those areas. The more you depend on God, the more you’ll pray; and the more you pray, the more God is willing to answer you.

Now tell me, what are your goals in life? Have you found any promise of God regarding or relating to your goals? Starting today, determine your present position, decide what you want to become, find a promise from God to hold onto, claim it, and then ask God for help.

 PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I thank you for your word today. Like Abraham, I hold onto your promise to actualize these goals (Mention your goals here). Lord, I know you are always with me. I have no doubt about the reality of your promises in my life. I know you are bigger! I thank you, Father, AMEN.
