You do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life like? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, ‘If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.’ – James 4:13-15
In today’s devotional, we shall continue with the nine steps to actualizing your goals in life.
8. Enlist a team of support. The scripture says, “One person standing alone is easily attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three people are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.” (Ecclesiastes 4:12). Therefore, build a powerful team around yourself. The stronger your team is, the more you can fulfill your dream. Success is never a one-person job; it takes teamwork, for God wired it this way because the most important lesson he wants you to learn here on earth is to love people.
9. You must make a good sacrifice or pay the price. In human relationships, nothing seems to be free. Eliezer gave Rebekah gifts to win her heart (Ref. Genesis 24:53) If you are serious about getting focused in life, you need to ask these three questions.
i. What will it cost?
ii. What am I willing to give?
iii. Is it worth it?
If the price is not worth it, restructure your plans and move in a different direction. Ask God for His will regarding what you must put into your work plan to get to your goal. God is great! He never gives His children any temptation greater than them. Just trust in God and lean on Him. Also, remember that investing in something that will outlast you is the greatest use of your life. Don’t begin to work toward your goals until you’ve counted the cost.
Perhaps, you may begin to wonder if you have set goals in life. The best way to commence setting goals for yourself is to first fast and pray for at least three days while asking God to reveal His will concerning your set goals. You will definitely receive some revelations concerning the issue. Then, write down your goal in such a way that you can see them clearly. Thereafter, begin to work with your revelations while stopping intermittently at different stages in the course of work for thanksgiving for what God had started in your life.
So beloved, it’s time to start; what is God’s will for you? Ensure that you move in the right direction as you set your goals.
PRAYER
Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I thank you for your word today. Like Abraham, I hold onto your promise to actualize these goals (Mention your goals here). Lord, I know you are always with me. I do not doubt the reality of your promises in my life; I know you are bigger! I thank you, Father, AMEN.
