“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” – Romans 15:13

Hope plays a crucial role in manifesting our desires. When you pray for God’s intervention, you must have hope that your request will come to pass. Therefore, hopelessness cripples the power and efficacy of prayers and fasting.

It is undeniable that we could have challenges in certain aspects of life. That is partly because without challenges, we may not understand the importance of God and His supremacy over all things. So, when tough times arise, we must have hope that the best is yet to happen to us and that if we are patient, the miracles that we yearn for would indeed happen; No matter how long the night may last, the dawn will follow soon after that. That in itself calls for hope seeing that the new dawn will take us to a higher level of fulfillment (Ref: Romans 5:2-5)

It is essential to keep hope alive during tough times. That is because hope motivates positive action. When you are hopeful, you regain strength and faith to await the visitation of God. Therefore, hope reduces feelings of helplessness, increases happiness, reduces stress, and improves quality of life. Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that hope rekindles our faith to believe that God has not forgotten us; He will visit us sooner than we expected! But we must keep hope alive while we wait for the Lord!

The Bible says we must not lose hope and that our expectations shall not fail. (Ref: Psalm 119:81; Psalm 9:18;2 Corinthians 3:12-14). Therefore, since we have such hope, we are victorious already!

Today, Paul tells us that the God of hope will fill us with all peace and joy; And that true hope comes by the power of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we can “overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit”! That also means that if we are overflowing with hope, hope can also flow through us to others, thereby causing us to touch other lives in a positive way.

God promised to give us hope because He wants us to have courage as we await the fulfillment of our expectations. Therefore, knowing what God has promised, you can stand in faith with the courage to face almost anything, with spiritual or material challenges. Hope empowers you to stand for life’s essential things and face problems or people that would typically intimidate you! Therefore, keep hope alive; Don’t be intimidated by the problems of life.

PRAYERS:

Father, grant me the hope to wait with confidence for your visitation, in Jesus’s name. AMEN.
