“Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’- John 7:38
Every Christian is called to be a disciple of Christ and to move in the Holy Spirit. Jesus promised those who believed in him an inner flow of the Christ Spirit – “Out of their hearts will flow rivers of living water”. While the meaning of that may not be clear to many people, it reminds us of the great potential that we possess as Disciples of Christ. What is very clear to me is that the Holy Spirit makes His appearance at a point in our life, baptizes us, does a surgical operation on our hearts by way of circumcision, thereby letting loose from the heart, a great inner flood of power in the character and nature of God. Every Disciple is being called to recognize this upsurge of power, for it contains the very essence and power of God which is the CHRIST SPIRIT. This is the power and the spirit of the son of God made manifest by the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit reveals and manifests the Christ Spirit; this happens when we receive baptism in the Holy Spirit. To move in the spirit means to move along with the Christ Spirit, in conjunction with the Holy Spirit. The manifestation of the Christ spirit in you makes you a SON OF GOD under the control and influence of the HOLY SPIRIT.
To flow with the spirit, the son of God must be united with the Holy Spirit, keeping in step with Him, and missing nothing He may want to do through him. There is usually no mistake about that; “The Holy Spirit will speak only what He hears from the father”, and this is usually in alignment with the scriptures. God wants intimacy with you today. To flow with the Spirit, a SON OF GOD must learn God’s ways, style, gentleness, indignation, impulses, and manner of doing things just like Jesus understood God. In other words, flowing with the Spirit is to do what pleases God and what He prompts you to do by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gives us prophetic revelation about the plans and purpose of God for us and humanity. It is time to become a true worker and disciple of Christ, a true son of God. The harvest is plenty, the labourers are few.
PRAYER
Father in the name of Jesus Christ, today, I lift up my head to the heavens to behold thy glory. Lord, sprinkle upon me thy divine waters and clean me from all my filthiness, idols and iniquities. Father, I declare I possess a new heart and a new spirit. Lord, removed my heart of stone and give me a heart of flesh. Therefore, I declare thy spirit fills me and I flow with thy best intentions from this day onwards. AMEN
