“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” – John 8:12
Our living on earth has placed us under one form of bondage or the other. These are the bondage of disease, ignorance, and poverty. The negativity, evil, and complexities of life won’t just go away. We shall each learn to overcome by living above the circumstances and situations created by them.
Jesus is offering us a way out today. Jesus says He is the light that removes disease, ignorance, and poverty.
How do we embrace the light of Christ to be free from the evil circumstances that dominate our world? Jesus says, “Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” That is because the light of God is His holiness, goodness, knowledge, power, wisdom, Grace, hope, and God revelation.
We receive the light of Christ by:
1. praying and seeking God’s will.
2. reading and reflecting on the Scriptures.
3. receiving Communion.
4. opening our lives to the Holy Spirit.
5. Avoid impurity or iniquity.
6. Imitation of Christ.
7. Obedience to God’s commandments,
After we receive the light of God, we have to walk in it! That means being in attunement with the Master in such a way that we become one with Him in essence and character. That means that our sense of compassion, love, and forgiveness is aroused, and we can serve others just like Jesus did.
To act like Jesus, discover your strengths and develop them to share with others what the Lord has given you.
Jesus is the light of the world. Therefore, become the light by embracing your inner light and letting the light transform you as well; Offer hope, encouragement, kindness, and compassion to others in times of darkness. Sometimes, to “Be the Light” means to give of yourself in a new way to a situation or cause, or relationship you are in. Offer yourself willingly to help others going through the crises of life.
Walking in the light of Christ allows you to immerse your light in Christ, and both of you become one stream of light in essence and character. Therein lies the power of freedom. Jesus is the author of liberty. If you are in him, you become one with Him in radiating the light of Christ that removes the darkness of life, thereby elevating yourself to the realm of life, peace, and Joy.
PRAYERS:
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, cause your holy face to shine upon me and raise me above the circumstances and situations created by the complexities of life. AMEN.
