SOUL CLEANSING (PART 1 OF 2)

13th OCTOBER 2022

“Having, therefore, these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all the filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in fear of God” – 2 Corinthians 7:1

The soul is the purest essence of God in us. The soul of man is the soul of God; therefore, the soul is God indwelling in man. Without the soul, there is no man, for the power that energizes man is the soul. Hence, the scripture says that man is a living soul!  The soul is pure and does not require spiritual cleansing. However, the soul must always be in perfect alignment with the body to have a perfect manifestation of a life of abundance.

When times become difficult or chaotic, we easily lose focus and become fearful about what may happen next. The storms of life can be quite consuming and distracting, especially if we experience negative events in a sequence.

For you to surmount these various obstacles and to get hold of the life of abundance promised to us by God, you need to do everything possible to purge impurities away from your heart, your words, your eyes and your actions. By so doing, you will create a perfect alliance between your body and your spirit. A perfect alliance between the body and the soul exists when the piercing eyes and ears of the soul are enabled to pierce through us with revelation and power, thereby raising the vibration of our body to a higher level, equal to the soul essence in us. When that happens, we are enabled to bring forth victory into our lives, thereby avoiding all negative conditions.

To purge the flesh, we must realize that our greatest temptations come from the heart. Our heart’s secret sins give birth to almost every evil deed and gradually enslave us. Sin disguises itself in such a terrible way, such that pride can be seen as conviction, self-sufficiency as industriousness, fear as attentiveness, scepticism as discernment, timidity as humility, etc., (Psalm 19:12–13). Ask that the Lord teach us to live and act following His truth while pursuing His will. We need God to join all the purposes, resolutions, and affections of our hearts into a singular purpose to worship, obey, and honour him. If our hearts are divided, so many things will be wrong with us.

In addition to this, we have to turn away from evil and do good. We must seek peace and pursue it (Psalm 34:14). Do good deeds all the time. In any case, our deeds will have an eternal impact when directed by God’s word, in love for God’s glory, and the strength and grace of Christ. Initiate the pursuit of peace, for we know its source. We must protect the weak always and do justice.

Today’s word says we have to purify ourselves and have our hearts united with God always. This will raise our vibration, and give us the strength to move to greater heights in life. While our flesh will never fully stop warring against our redemption in this sinful world, the more we live as a people aware of this tension, the more we can be used in life-giving ways. Though potentially difficult at all times, a spiritual cleansing enables us to hear the Spirit’s voice more and see our Savior’s face. Whether in the loud storms, the drenching rains, or the contrary winds, we can press on for the prize with excitement in our hearts — pursuing things unseen as we walk in the steps of our Lord.

PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I thank you for Grace and the Faith to live and perfect the works of salvation in my life. Cleans me inside out and brings me in perfect alignment with thy spirit and the seat of power in me, AMEN
