THE DECISIONS YOU MAKE DETERMINE YOUR GROWTH

18th FEBRUARY 2022

“This day, I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live “- Deuteronomy 30:19

As humans, we cannot always be right in our decisions, and that is because we often make decisions based on sentiment, depending on the issue or on who is involved. Therefore, our lives are the sum of all our choices.

Today, the word of God tells us that we each can choose to walk in life or death. The kind of people we are is determined by the ultimate choice we make.

Unfortunately, we often choose not to love God but disobey his commands. These bad decisions always lead to more bad choices; The Bible says, “This is love for God: to obey his commands” (1 John 5:3). The end of bad decisions is suffering, and sometimes, death might occur.

Although Jesus is offering us a life of abundance that we may experience more abundantly, unfortunately, not many have accepted Jesus and the life that He freely gives us. Instead, they have chosen to walk in darkness.

The Bible tells us that in all our ways, we should acknowledge God, and He will make straight our paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6). Therefore, any Christian should first ask God’s advice when faced with a decision. The Bible reminds us not to lean on our imperfect human understanding because regretful mistakes are often made.

The fact remains that the root of evil and the path to hell is rooted in the selfish ambition to live our own lives as we please.

Beloved, starting today, take a critical evaluation of your decision leading to your present status, and ask yourself if you agreed with God in your decision-making process. Have you been forging or advancing your agenda formulated from your poor judgment? Instead of banging on the table and saying, “that is my final decision”, say instead, “Lord Jesus, I need you to lead the way….”

PRAYER

In the name of Jesus Christ, Father instilled in me the consciousness of a proper attitude and change to enable me to live a life befitting a child of God. Lord, let me be genuinely worthy of righteousness in Christ Jesus so I may fulfil my eternity by your word and promises. AMEN.
