UNDERSTANDING THE POWER TO CREATE WHAT YOU WANT (PART 3 OF 3)

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made” – John 1:1 – 3

But why can’t we create all the things we need, or at least, have access to the things we desire?  Why is it that we cannot avoid creating the things that we don’t like? There is no doubt that we pray but still can’t actualize our desire. Why is that so? There are many reasons why our desires don’t manifest. However, one critical aspect rarely talked about, which we shall cover in this devotional, is the Holy Spirit’s power to manifest our heart desires.

The Scripture says we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). That refers to God’s creative power – Christ is  in us to manifest or bring forth the glory of God upon our life!

The Scripture further says concerning Mary the mother of Jesus thus; “and the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also, that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God” ( Luke 1:35)

The above verse shows that without the Holy Spirit, God’s Word won’t become flesh like Jesus did.  Also, we need the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to cause the Word of God to manifest our desires.  Jesus Christ was only able to perform miracles on earth by the Holy Spirit’s power. Therefore, although he was God, He required the Holy Spirit’s presence to complete supernatural works while on earth as a man.

The Scripture further tells us that all of Jesus’ miracles during His public ministry were “permitted” by the power of the Spirit. (Acts 10:38; John 1:32) Same applied to all the Apostles (Romans 15:19)

We can attract the Holy Spirit into our lives by:

·   Cleansing and purification. You have to plead God’s righteousness and grace upon yourself all the time to get forgiven for your various iniquities.

·   Fasting and prayers; They both help to raise our conscious Spirit to a higher frequency to attract the Holy Spirit. Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights before the Spirit located Him to imbue Him with powers to perform miracles.

Note that the Holy Spirit experiences a drawback due to our impure thoughts. “As someone thinks within himself, so he is.”  (Proverbs 23:7). Therefore, what you allow into your mind determines your reality and ultimately, your legacy. According to Dr Caroline Leaf “, As we think, we change the physical nature of our brain. As we consciously direct our thinking, we can wire out toxic patterns of thinking and replace them with healthy thoughts.”

In confirmation of the above statement by Dr Leaf, the Scripture says that; “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (2Corinthians 10:5)

Further to the above, we capture our thoughts when we are quiet and still. ( Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still and know that I am God.” ).

Further to the above, the Scripture says we can subdue negative thoughts by thinking about what is excellent and noble (Philippians 4:8) People who understand Philippians 4:8 chose love. They decided to see the imago Dei — God’s image — in everyone. They pick right and ruthlessly eliminate negativity.

PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I thank you for the revelation of thy Word today. You have deposited in me thy power to create all that I need. Therefore, I ask for the grace to understand this power and how to use it for the greater glory of thy name. Thank you, Lord, AMEN.
