“But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint”- Isaiah 40:31
Sometime in 1987, a friend introduced to me, a book titled, “Tough Times Never Last, but Tough People Do! by Robert H. Schuller. The title of this book summarizes my sermon to you today. Tough time never lasts, because God is faithful and we are called to trust in God no matter how bad the situation might seem. Therefore, no matter what is happening in our life and indeed how we feel about what is happening to us, we are called to claim the promises of God and to hold on to them. God promises that nothing will ever befall us that cannot be cured by Him. To wait on God therefore, is to believe that God will act in His time and to trust and be patient. One very potent weapon to fight the devil during the period of waiting for God is to bless and praise God, even when we are afflicted, disappointed or are suffering. Are you currently feeling defeated by the devil; or are disappointed, sick, deluded and confused?
The word of God is telling you today to wait on God; never give up. God will arise to strengthen you and to fix every of your broken piece. How do we wait for God?
1. We wait for God by praising Him continuously for His love – notwithstanding the pains we feel in our hearts. God will heal every of our pains and restore us, even double.
2. Hold on to the promises of God in the scriptures. Confess God’s word and let faith rule your heart. God is able to work and walk through time and space to change all things for good.
3. Look beyond the devil and your failing situation, instead, focus on God and success. Focus on God through prayers, believing that God has commenced His work of restoration in your life. Feel strengthened by His spirit and Grace.
