There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens - Ecclesiastes 3:1

The seasons of life and fate will rule our life notwithstanding our beliefs or religious ideologies. It has nothing to do with what we think or our assumptions; it is ruled basically by God’s spirit for our good and wellbeing. The scriptures say that, from the tribe of Issachar, there were 200 leaders of the tribe with their relatives. All these men understood the signs of the times and knew the best course for Israel to take (1 Chronicles 12:32). Therefore, these times and seasons are quite real, and do affect our lives daily. How do we key into the seasons and flow with them to ensure success? First, we must understand the meaning of the seasons. For instance: a. “a time to be born and a time to die”( Ecclesiastes 3:2 ) A time to be born means the time when humans are naturally born into the world. It is a period which affords significant safety for everyone. But beyond that, it also significantly means a favorable time for starting something new or something unique. So if you desire to commence something new, such as a new business, signing a contract, or starting a venture, this is the most auspicious moment for that. Conversely, a time to die means a time of less safety, or when due to unforeseen circumstances, people are just prone to accidents – whether domestic accidents, factory accidents or motor accidents. Apart from these, it significantly means a period of general breakdown or washing away. During this period, the season is not favourable for setting up a new business, or converting an idea to something concrete. It follows therefore that anything new commenced during this period has a tendency to either collapse or be completely eroded and broken down. This means that if we defer the commencement of a new business or venture, until the times are right for it, our business will surmount natural forces acting against it success.

b. “A time to plant and a time to uproot” (Ecclesiastes 3:2) this goes beyond the natural period of planting crops and harvesting them. A time to plant also significantly means a time to expand a business, plant a ministry or a church, to fix new trade equipment in your business or workplace, a time to relocate from one city to another, a time to confirm any ones appointment, a time to initiate change generally. Conversely, to uproot is not too favorable to anyone of the activities listed above. During the uprooting period, an opposite undercurrent is at work. This opposite undercurrent is not bad in itself, but it’s just that the timing or season is favorable for something else. A season to uproot would be good for disengagement from employment, canceling a bad contract, a time to restructure your business or your home by removing all forms of indiscipline and bad habits. Like the children of Issachar, I pray that God will today empower you with the gift and spirit of discernment so you may understand all the seasons and times for your benefit and the benefit of humanity.
