TRUST AND HOPE IN GOD! (PART 3 OF 3)

30th  JULY 2023

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD – Jeremiah 17:7

This is a continuation of our message on how to trust and place hope in God. Other ways you can build your trust in God are the following:

 Listen to the Holy Spirit

When Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to the church, He told His disciples that the Counselor would be their spiritual compass. The one who shall teach them the complete truth about all things.

“But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” (John 14:26)

Have you cultivated the habit of seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit? Moving through the vicissitudes of life is not an easy task! You definitely need the compass of the Holy Spirit to enable you to move smoothly. That means we don’t have to go it alone; The Holy Spirit leads us into all truth and protects us every way we go: “Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.” (2 Timothy 1:14)

Rest in God’s Love

When we face a difficult world each day, we can sometimes wonder if God even cares. Why do bad things happen? How do I solve these problems? Where is God when I need Him most? Those are some of the questions we ask ourselves when faced with difficult situations. Solomon reminds us that God never takes a break or leaves us to fend for ourselves. The scripture reminds us that,” because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.” (Proverbs 3:12)

Looking at the above scripture – Proverbs 3:12, it means that even in the midst of turmoil, God sticks with us and uses those challenges to shape us. When we understand that fact, our perspective completely flips and changes.  No longer do we see our setbacks as failures or mistakes; we see them as moments when God, as our loving Father, works on us. Perhaps, this is one of the greatest reasons we can trust in the Lord with all our hearts; God cares for us each and every day! He gives us what we need to thrive. He pours blessing after blessing upon us!

There is no doubt that following each of these daily steps isn’t easy. That is why Jesus said we have to deny ourselves and follow Him (Matthew 16:24). Trusting God takes a whole-hearted commitment from dawn till dusk. But we’re never alone in it, for the scripture tells us; “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20b)

Today’s word tells us to trust God and be blessed. The more we trust God with our life and everything that pertains to us, the more He will be moved in turn to bless us. He is a faithful God!

PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I thank you for the seed of faith planted in my heart. Even as I trust in you, I decree that your seed shall grow beyond my imagination. AMEN.
