LIVING WATERS MISSION DAILY DEVOTIONAL
SATURDAY AND SUNDAY 23RD AND 24TH MARCH 2024
AUTHOR: MARY LAWRENCE–DOKPESI
TOPIC: ACHIEVING BALANCE IN LIFE
TODAY’S SCRIPTURES:
“Consider what God has done: He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart, yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”- Ecclesiastes 7:14
ACHIEVING BALANCE IN LIFE
Balance. It’s that elusive feeling that we MUST have everything we need – physically, mentally, and spiritually – in its proper place. Imagine a skilled rider on a powerful horse. They navigate the twists and turns with ease, their body in perfect sync with the animal’s movement. This is the essence of balance – a constant, dynamic adjustment for a smooth journey.
This verse reminds us that life, like a grand journey, has different seasons. There will be times to push forward with ambition and moments for quiet reflection. By trusting in God’s timing, we can maintain our balance even when the path seems uncertain.
Finding the Flow
Imagine a river – sometimes rushing over rapids, other times serenely meandering through meadows. A balanced life is like this river, navigating both the challenges and the calm moments. But just as a river can become overwhelmed during a storm, neglecting certain aspects of life can throw us off course.
Creating balance isn’t about rigidity; it’s about adapting and adjusting. By trusting in God’s timing, prioritizing self-care, and connecting with others, we can become skilled riders, navigating the currents of life with grace and purpose
Action Steps for Balance:
1. Embrace the Seasons: Recognize that life has its ebbs and flows. Don’t force yourself to maintain the same pace all the time. Learn to adjust your priorities as needed while staying true to your long-term goals.
2. Practice Self-Care: Nourish your body with healthy food and exercise. Prioritize quality sleep and find activities that replenish your mental and emotional well-being.
3. Cultivate Gratitude: Take time each day to appreciate the good things in your life, big and small. Gratitude keeps you grounded and fosters a sense of peace, even amidst challenges.
4. Connect with Others: Nurture your relationships with loved ones. Share your burdens and celebrate your victories with a supportive network. Remember, we are not meant to ride this journey alone.
Prayer:
Dear God, guide me as I navigate the different seasons of life. Help me find balance and flow in your perfect timing.
