GOD’S SPIRITUAL LOVE DEMONSTRATED THROUGH CHRIST

“Reflect on the spiritual compulsion of Christ’s love, which motivates us to live for Him. Through His death, we died to our old selves and are now compelled by His love to live for Him who died for us.”

-Mary Lawrence-Dokpesi

REFLECTION:

Think about the deepest love you know. Maybe it’s for your child, parent, or someone very close. Now imagine a love so much bigger, a love that would give up its life for everyone, no matter what they’ve done. That’s the kind of love God has for us! The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:14 that “Christ’s love compels us.” This means God’s love, shown through Jesus Christ, pushes us to live differently. Why? Because Jesus, God’s son, died on the cross, not just for a few people, but for everyone. Think of it like this: if one person in a family pays off a debt for everyone else, then everyone is free of that debt. In the same way, Jesus’ sacrifice frees us from the burden of our mistakes.

ADDITIONAL VERSE: “And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.” – 2 Corinthians 5:15

MEDITATION: Meditate on the spiritual transformation when we live for Christ instead of ourselves. Surrender your desires and ambitions to Him, allowing His love to compel you to live for His glory.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank You for the spiritual transformation brought about by Christ’s love. Help us to live not for ourselves, but for Him who died for us and rose again. Amen.
