“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” – Galatians 2:20

LIVING IN SPIRITUAL SURRENDER TO CHRIST

“Contemplate the spiritual reality of being crucified with Christ, where our old selves are put to death and Christ lives within us. Our lives are now lived in faith, rooted in the love of the Son of God who sacrificed Himself for us”. – Mary Lawrence -Dokpesi

REFLECTION

In this verse, Paul says that when Jesus died on the cross, our old way of living died too. It’s like we were nailed to the cross with him. But that’s not the end! Now, Jesus lives in us!

This means we don’t have to focus on ourselves anymore. Instead, we can live by trusting and believing in Jesus. He loves us so much that he gave himself up for us.

By thinking about this verse, we can ask ourselves: How can I let go of wanting things only for myself and focus on what God wants for me? How can I let Jesus take control of my heart?

The more we trust Jesus, the more we can live the way God wants us to. And remember, because of Jesus, we have eternal life!

ADDITIONAL VERSE: “For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.” – Romans 6:5

MEDITATION: Meditate on the spiritual union we share with Christ in His death and resurrection. Allow His life to flow through you, guiding and empowering you to live for His glory.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank You for our spiritual union with Christ. Help us to live by faith in His love and to walk in the power of His resurrection. Amen.

Mary Lawrence-Dokpesi was born in Nigeria to Patrick Abuda Obeakemhe and Juliana Fatimatu Obeakemhe, both from Ogbona Town. With a master’s degree in law, she was called to the bar at the age of twenty-two, and she is currently the principle partner of the law firm Mary Lawrence-Dokpesi & Associates. She is also the founder of two philanthropic organizations: the Living Waters Mission and the Rose Croix Foundation.
