“In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (I Pet. 1:6-7).
The purpose of God in our lives is to create opportunities for us to become a better version of ourselves. God is the master Blacksmith whose main purpose is to refine us and shape us to become the purified gold or jewel of His heart. (James 1:2-3, I Pet. 1:6-7)
Therefore, day by day, it is expected that the master blacksmith will work on our inadequacies to enable us to become conscious of His glory and power. The first thing the blacksmith does is take a piece of metal and heat it in the fire until it’s almost translucent. He might also melt the metal down entirely to pour it into a mould. Both of these processes make the metal workable, but also illuminate the metal’s impurities or deficiencies.
God has already created us in His image and likeness, but we lost that realization in the drama and confusion of life. But we have to reestablish that divine alignment to allow the glory of God to flow through us.
For as long as we are not bending in the direction, He wants us to bend, or look good, He continues to form us along the path of His plan and purpose. Jesus is there always for us; to show us the way all the time. When all around you gives way, Christ is your hope. Lean on the solid rock of Christ.
Jesus is the master and Lord of our life; His aim is to lead us to the father in righteousness and in complete realization of our divine heritage. In the end, we must be able to say, like Jesus did, ‘I and the father are one’!
PRAYER:
Oh God of Grace, thank you for your Grace that strengthens me in all areas of my weaknesses. Thank you for the love to live life to the fullest. Thank you for the faith that gives hope for the fulfilment of your word in my life. AMEN
