LIFE IS A PIANO – WHAT YOU GET IS DEPENDENT ON HOW YOU PLAY IT

June 3rd 2018

“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap in return. The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” – Galatians 6:7-8

“Life is like a piano, what you get is dependent on how you play it” is a popular statement credited to one Tom Andrew Lehrer, a musician and a mathematician. Why describe life in this manner, you may wonder? The truth is that, life is truly a piano! All that we do in life is to play a piano. As you already know, a standard acoustic piano today has 88 keys, which when tapped, will produce one type of music note or the other. Not many of us are accustomed to playing a piano, or had previously come close to any; but that is not the issue. The lesson here is that whatever key you touched on the piano will produce a certain sound, which you may or may not like; some notes are harsh, some have sharp sound, some soft sound, and still, some very soft sound. Using the foregoing as example, whatever step you take in life, will either produce an experience that you may or may not like.

The scripture is telling us today to be careful of every of our action or decisions; for whatever step we take has its results; whether good or bad. This is an infallible principle of God which must surely come to pass in our lives. The principle is potent against all humanity, notwithstanding who you are or what you believe in. In order for us to be well positioned to reap the promises and plan of God, we must play the piano of life properly in order to bring forth a good musical piece that will be pleasing to our ears, which will in turn bring to us good experiences. You may wonder at this point whether your life is in your hands or in God’s hands. Or better still, how are you expected to live out the plan and promises of God for your life if all is dependent on how you play the piano of life? It is true that the plan of God for us is good health, prosperity, and that we may reap all His promises for us, notwithstanding this, we still have to do these five things:
- Pray without ceasing, so you will take the right steps all the time.
- Believe in God’s plan and purpose for you
- Pray regularly to receive the good life
- Serve tjavascript:void(0);he glory of God by sowing good seeds in the life of others.
- Be patient and hopeful to receiving the good life.
All these five actions are for us to undertake in order to receive His promises for us. When you do the above five things, you will be touching the right keys on the piano keyboard of life, and the result will be good music of God’s love and fulfillment for you.

Prayer
Father in the name of Jesus Christ, today, I promise to serve your glory in all things. I ask for wisdom, knowledge and understanding to enable me live a fulfilled life. Therefore, I declare victory in all areas of my life. AMEN.
