LIVING WITH WISDOM AND PURPOSE

In Ephesians 5:15-16, the apostle Paul encourages believers to live wisely and make the most of every opportunity because the days are evil. This passage reminds us of the importance of intentional living and seizing the opportunities that God places before us. It calls us to be mindful of our choices, actions, and priorities to live a life that is pleasing to God.

As followers of Christ, we are called to live differently from the world around us. Therefore, in the new year, we are called to be wise in our decisions, discerning in our actions, and intentional in our pursuits. In a world filled with distractions, temptations, and evil influences, we must be careful about how we live.

Living wisely means seeking God’s guidance in all aspects of our lives. Therefore, as we enter into the new year, let us constantly align our thoughts, words, and actions with God’s truth and purpose.  Let us be mindful of the choices we make and consider their impact on ourselves and others. When we choose wisdom over foolishness, we position ourselves to experience the abundant life that Christ has promised.

Furthermore, Paul urges us to make the most of every opportunity. As we enter the new year, therefore, we should avoid time-wasting activities that do not make us create an impact. Time is a precious gift from God, and we should not take it for granted. Each day presents countless opportunities for us to serve God, love others, and make a difference in the world around us. By being attentive to these opportunities, we can fulfil our purpose and bring glory to God.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE:

1.    Take a moment to reflect on how you can live more intentionally and purposefully in the coming year.

2.    Consider areas where you may be wasting time or neglecting opportunities to serve God and others. Is there a particular hobby, habit, or relationship that is consuming too much of your time and hindering your spiritual growth?  Pray for wisdom to recognize these areas and make the necessary changes

3.    Identify specific steps you can take to make the most of every opportunity. It could be volunteering at a local charity, reaching out to someone in need, or investing more time in prayer and studying God’s word. Write down these steps and commit them to God in prayer. Ask Him to guide you and empower you to live with intentionality and purpose.

PRAYERS:

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I thank you for your word that guides and instructs me. Help me to live with wisdom and discernment in all areas of my life. Open my eyes to see the opportunities you place before me each day. Grant me the courage to seize those opportunities and use them for your glory. Give me the wisdom to prioritize my time and energy according to your will. May my life be a reflection of your love and grace. Amen.
