LOVE OPENS THE DOOR TO A NEW LIFE

JANUARY 31st 2018

Today’s Scriptures: “As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love” - John 15:9-17

Love is a very difficult concept to understand. It means different thing to different people. What makes love sometimes painful is the vulnerability that always seems to accompany it as well as our frustrations in not being able to keep it. To love someone and suffer rejection is most painful experience; it shakes the depth of our being, our hopes, and our dreams. Love takes us to the mountain-top, and when lost, sends us crashing back to the valley below. Once in a while, we suffer disappointment in love, and that creates in us an inner void, which if not filled by God’s love will cause very serious setback to us. Jesus suffered rejection so many times. He was rejected by His best friends, His own family, and in the end, by the world around him. But never did he lose his true identity, or derailed from his mission. Today, so many of us are suffering similar fate. It’s time to shift from human incomplete love, to God’s unconditional love that has no end.

When we say “Jesus loves you”, some would laugh, saying Jesus is not human and therefore cannot express love. But we are mistaking. Jesus is a product of love; He knows you better than anyone; your good and the bad. Accepting Jesus’ love, will create a shift in your life, so much that you are filled with strength, and value. When you come across Jesus’s love, your heart becomes pure in love; no longer is love solely a romantic or obligatory relationship that satisfies your desperate need to find significance and value. BUT Living in God’s love places you in a position of strength, for you know, to whom you belong and who you are. You do not need human love to prove your self-worth or value. God is yours and you are His. The word of God is telling us today to make a life-changing decision to follow true love and to be loved unconditionally. God is the source of our value and our hope. Nothing you face in this life will detach you from the love of God.

Prayer

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I open myself to a renewed inflow of your divine love today, and I declare I have a new identity and hope, for I am filled by Christ love. Lord, I cease to yearn for empty, mental and emotional laden affection, and I declare a shift into a limitless ocean of love which rests in the heart and soul of Christ. Thank you father. AMEN.
